It is gud if you like history. They even showed Sikh's like Ala singh agreed to help Maratha's but unable to do that.

The film is also not very anti muslim as they did not show brutalities of Abdali.

yh I'll watch it     yh i like historical epics

just watched "panipat"   it really wasnt as bad as people make it out to be!   i mean it was brilliant but wasnt bad   6/10

dnt know y pakis are complaining  because abdali was the last man standing   nothing distorted there

seems like some of the maratha "allies"  were actually traitors

being treacherous is in indian blood lol    only reason india india was so easily invaded was because they were all busy plotting against each other     rajputana had broken down into like 100s of small rajput kingdoms all in battle against each other

indians themselves used to assist invaders invade india in return for some praise and land from the invaders.

treachery is part of our blood!

AAMIR KHAN PROPOSED TO MAKE FILM ON HARI SINGH NALWA

By Daily Sikh Updates / January 27, 2020

According to several sources, the SGPC proposed Aamir Khan to make a film on Hari Singh Nalwa. While the Bollywood actor visited Sri Darbar Sahib in November 2019, he met with SGPC officials who proposed the film idea to the actor.

Aamir Khan requested credible books on the Sikh general and in a recent exchange with the SGPC, the Sikh organization gave him several books on the general.

News Portal Sikh24 reported the following:

Sharing the development with media, Dr. Roop Singh informed that he met Aamir Khan in Mumbai during his official visit regarding an agreement of Sri Guru Ram Dass Medical College with Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital (Mumbai).

“I gave him two English books named ‘Hari Singh Nalwa’ and ‘Champion of the Khalsa Ji’ which are written by S. Avtar Singh and Vaneet Nalwa respectively,” he informed while adding that Aamir Khan has assured him that he will read these books.

Dr. Roop Singh further said that Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa is the only personality in world’s history who conquered Afghanistan. “I want a movie on Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa so that our next generations could get apprised of the great Sikh history in an easy and convenient way,” he added.

Ajay Devgn looks forward

With Tanhaji still up for release, the actor is already looking forward to making a biopic on Hari Singh Nalwa.

Ajay Devgn had a screening of his film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior for the distributors and other important members of the trade. Everyone came out of the film praising it so much that they want to back the entire series of films being made under the tagline of unsung warriors or unsung heroes.

“It was a closed-door screening, but we enjoyed the film a lot. The film had enough material, keeping in mind a lot of VFX that would come in handy when the film would achieve its final look. Ajay is now looking at making a biopic on Hari Singh Nalwa, the commander-in-chief of the Sikh Khalsa Fauj next,” says a trade source.

Additionally, Nalwa is the founder of Haripur, a city which is now in Pakistan. He was also the Diwan of Kashmir earlier. A Nalwa biopic is on the radar, inform sources.

It wasn't treachery in my view, Unlike how the Marathas are portrayed in the film in reality they were nothing more than lootare who were milking North India to enrich their own country. They Hindu Jats, the Rajput and the Muslims Nawabs had to pay 1/4th of their kingdom's revenue to the Marathas. So when Abdali invaded these kingdoms saw this as an opportunity for them to free themselves from the Marathas. Some made the pretence of joining the Marathas and bided their time while others went with Abdali or stayed neutral. Dal Khalsa also stayed neutral knowing that both sides would destroy each other and the winner would become weaker.

yh they show it the movie how the smaller hindu/muslim kingdoms were complaining of how the marthas were heavily taxing them.  and when the marthas were sending messengers to the various smaller kingdoms some agreed to be allies while some didnt because of the taxes     many hindu kingdoms sided with abdali

but i guess this battle gave sikhs in punjab to build power      abdali just looted delhi and left   while martha lost the north after the battle

while abdali was in delhi his uncle in afghanistan started claiming his throne

look at how afghans looted india  they were invaders   and then look what the americans/british did to them they too were invaders   karma

Just watching a documentary about Ancient Carthage, they were very much a mercantile empire.

However, they never really made allies and were betrayed by other states when they were fighting enemies.

It is important to win hearts and minds.

That is something Marathas never did.

I enjoyed watching Panipat movie  but it was very strongly partial towards the Marathas. The narrative behind the movie is like somehow the Marathas had a right over all of India. Anyone who doesn't give unconditional support to the Marathas is branded a national traitor whether they be the Rohillas or the Rajputs. First of all the Rohillas were Afghan/Pathan yousafzai settlers in India. So obviously they will stand by their ethnic kin instead of the Marathas. The Rajputs were being humiliated by the Marathas through their Chauth collections, at least the Marathas should have had some sense to not extort and loot their co religionists. The Maratha raid in Bengal proved they were just as barbaric and cruel as the Afghans.

The Sikhs have also not been spared by some Marathas who criticize the Sikhs for being neutral. First of all they ignore history. Just 3 years prior in 1758 the Sikhs did help the Marathas in conquering all of Punjab. This alliance was between Mughals under Adina Beg, Sikhs and the Marathas who jointly drove away the Afghans. Although now the Marathas like to boast like they did it all alone but truth is they could not have done it without the Sikh and Mughal support. Secondly the Marathas did not go any further than the river Ravi but since the 20th century they began to claim their horses drank from the river Indus. Some even go further and claim they even conquered Peshawar! This is all unsubstantiated.

After the Afghans were driven out the Marathas gave all of Punjab to the Mughals under Adina beg instead of the Sikhs who were equal partners in the alliance that drove away the Afghans. Adina Beg then gathered all the chiefs of Punjab from the Muslim tribal cheifs of Pothohar to the Hindu Pahari Rajas of Himachal and Jammu and Pathan Faujdars of Kasur, Multan. All joined the Mughals and persecuted the Sikhs to no end. Sikhs were almost killed off. They only survived because they escaped into the Malwa territory and held off until Adina Beg suddenly died.

Sikhs learnt their lesson to never help the Marathas after that. During the battle of Panipat, the Marathas had their chance to prove their mettle by fighting the Afghans. Both armies were equally matched and blocking each other's path. No doubt Marathas fought very bravely. They would have won had Abdali not sent his reserve force at a critical moment. It was the most bloodiest battle of the 1700s. One lakh people are said to have died in a single day.

I think marathas fought a battle with the aurangzeb which lasted over a decade? Think it's called battle of Deccan.  I read how aurangzeb involvement in this long battle was one of the reasons why the empire started crumbling after him. He invested to much time there that the mughals in the north started plotting against him and becoming corrupt.

It would be interesting to read about aurangzebs psychology! Like what was going on in his head.
