But in recent times mahapurash across india have been handing out langar to poor ppl outside the gurdwara

i think the problem arises when we use our resources, time etc to help others when we aren't progressing. While some of those groups might be actively plotting against sikhs.

Guru Nanak dev sahib jee also did fed the hungry sadhus. 'Religious' gurikhs are full of daya where they do not care about themselves but give away for the needs of other human ONLY if they have more than what they need.

Keep it in mind, this happens when their inner soul tells them to do. Take an example of Bhagat Puran Singh ji, who barely had good clothes for himself not because he could not afford it etc. His inner soul tells him to do 24/7 sewa for the poor who actually needs them. Is his organization today the same ? Nope.

Keeping that mind, today we have copycats who are promoting their own image without the religious light in their soul - the way our guru sahib jee want. Take example of the sakhi of Bhai Laalo and Malik Bhago - both gave food but there was difference of the meaning.

Feed the poor, donate etc.. Do it gupt way if you really want to. But do not marketize it, we shouldn't be that cheap to showoff. This is what we can say cultural ego.

Waheguru is in the past, present and future, is the timeless lord and beyond all that we can imagine.

Waheguru will never desert us those who do not contemplate on him and not worship him will be the losers in this life and the next. As Guru Nanak Sahib Ji says even the bad times are gifts even though we as humans may not understand it at the time in the longer run the bad times are the medicines to take off the karmic debt and shake up and wake up the humans who seem to think they are the masters of their lives on this earth in this short temporary existence.

Langar will continue.   You guys will whine. You guys will go to the nagar kirtan to eat all your favorite dishes.   Then complain more about langar.  You will eat lavishly at home and restaurants,  while cursing the langar of the Guru.

You can't force Sikhi down people throats.   If someone wants to do naam simran, it's on them.  If someone wants langar from the Guru than it's on them.

I can see you guys turning into the new Christian's of sikhism.  If you dont say these prayers 10 times, then no langar for you......get out of my house....I paid for the fridge in the Gurdwara kitchen.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
