COVID-19 Winners and losers

This situation is different to anything I have been involved in my life so far

Whether it was purely natural or manufactured, there have been some winners and losers from it:

- Big food companies like supermarkets ; even small businesses like corner shops and off licences are doing well in UK. However, high street shops which  cannot open are going out of business

- Cashless industry vs cash as lots of big businesses still open are rejecting cash where possible for 'hygiene reason'

- IT companies because more people are working from home so requiring their technology. On the whole, small businesses who cannot do remote working are losing out

- Delivery companies because people buying more stuff online

- media because more people are following news

-  Hygiene product companies because of hand sanitisation etc

- Pharnaceutical and vaccine industry

What does this all (and more not mentioned) mean for the future?

End of cash in society?

Fewer small businesses and more big and bigger businesses?

More people working from home?

Everyone will be forced to have more vaccines?

Gatherings e.g. theatre/movie/sports/religious, school and college classrooms will no longer be as common?

Along as Corona gets sorted and the Chinese can stop eating bats. I think everything will get back to normal.

Losers- Hotels, tourist spot shops, casinos, taxis, restaurants, karate schools, Cafes, clothing industry, malls, food joints, ship industry, logistic companies, car dealerships, auto makers, mechanics, fuel stations, airline industry, theme parks, Construction projects, computer hardware, computer software etc etc.

Winners - only owners of some tech companies providing remote access software programs and essential product producing companies like 3M.

India is going to benefit from this BIG TIME. Especially from pharmaceutical sales and other nations switching to India from China for stuff.

doubt it Modi will benefit , his cronies will benefit , but the vast majority of Indians will lose jobs, lose homes , die of either hunger or disease, this is because after giving only 4HOURS notice he shut  down everything transport, going outside etc leaving millions stranded and having to walk home , already more than 30 have died trying to do that.
India may have cheap labour but the west will be looking to become somewhat self-sufficient especially for medical supplies , it makes sense especially since China delivered contaminated /faulty medical mask and PPE, transport routes allowed interception of ventilators by other nations.

GDP had fallen to 4 percent prior to the pandemic through outright bank robbery and incompetence by Modi  now God knows how low it will be .

Interesting

Onyl 4 hours notice, do you think incompetence, or was it deliberate?

he did the same thing on demonitisation  'today at midnight 500 and 100 rupee notes  will no longer be valid' , it is deliberate to stoke up the fear , the confusion , the opportunity for criminals to take advantage whether government based or the free market.

guju neighbours asked me where I bought my fruit trees which are my mini orchard , he reckons I'm onto something because of this kerfuffle . We as qaum have to become self-sufficient , even down to our own chemists, doctors, scientists, mathematicians, manufacturers ,economist, environmentalists, bankers, development and strategy personnel . We have to learn to staff our future raj; push education and mental strength, physical strength.
Stop supporting the big places , support apne businesses, make entrepeurship a goal not employment by others corporations . Learn to feed your families by growing our foods, make own clothes , live minimal sustainable lives .

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
