It is all there and it is amazing to listen to katha of this amazing granth, rather than just reading the english translations of the granth. It certainly is a great source of knowledge for the Sikh Panth.

Hi there, i have just finished katha of Giani Sher Singh on prachin panth prakash, it was recommended by my brother. I am not sure if the katha is for the whole granth but I will be getting a hard copy of the granth. Can i just ask others views. After listening to katha i have realised that sikhi is about fighting for your rights and there is no such thing as chamtkar. Our elders had to give their lives and also the granth highlights the importance of  Akal Takhat in our faith. I may get toasted for saying this. The problem now is that i don't trust any kathavachak as they are always telling some chamtkars whereas our guru’s taught us to fight for our rights. Even bhai Nand Laal ji had to leave and work..... i dont know, i just think reading Panth Parkash should be essential for every Sikh because otherwise we are just lost. I wonder if there are any other books like this granth. Just imagine if there was a Hollywood film on missals, not a low budget by Punjabi singer. The whole granth is amazing, amazing and just amazing. It could inspire the world, let alone someone like me. 

The granth is must read for every Sikh. 
 

Most importantly Rattan Singh Bhangu was a warrior, he died in battle of Sabraon, he wrote the granth for us. 
 

Why you should trust this granth? I will tell you. I grew up post 1984 punjab, once there was live shooting between the BSF and Singhs (outside our house) and we were all hiding, for sometime we weren’t allowed to sleep at our farm homes, we had to leave at night to spend nights at our local village. My own dad was picked up by police and tortured for a month ( its like NZ Neki talking crap about Baba Deep Singh Ji, someone might think if her dad was tortured for a month, how he survived etc.etc. but my dad is alive and So is the doctor who treated him when he lost his mental capacity following the torture, unspeakable stuff happened at that time ), my uncle was tortured so much that he left the house for sometime (he was tortured in front of whole village on hot sand). Now these stories are not written anywhere but they are 101% true because our family members have lived them through. There were Singhs and then there were looters, there were police officers from Sikh families, there were army men who were much nicer than Punjab police and we were in middle of everything... poor people who couldn't take asylum in fancy countries. 

After listening to katha, i asked myself if anything was exacerbated by RSB, and the answer came that when my grandad, my dad or other family members talked about post 1984, they never changed any facts or parts of stories., the reason is because they have lived through them. Even I have asked my naani about partition and she always told the same without changing any aspects. My conclusion is that when you live through something, you don’t change. Also, as there was no social media, stories stayed intact.

You should really record these events as told by your family. Either as voice recordings or even better in written form. As we rely on bhangus account so will futute generations.

And if you dont tell the real true story and the glory and the fairy tale accounts of 84 will be remembered. About how 200 singhs fought a whole army and the kharkhoos were these supermen. 

We need the truth with the nitty, gritty details to survive. The plight of the commen ppl must be known.

I was thinking about this the other day. We should be recording everything that happened for future generations just like Akali Baba Rattan Singh Ji Bhangu because all that happened is panthic history. Perhaps a volume 3 might need to be put in the works.

Yeah but 1984 is very murky. So is ranjeet singhs downfall era. We need ppl who lived thru it. Their accounts

If you have listened to the katha of Panth Parkash, I don't know how you can say that there is no such thing as chamatkaar.

I have read Parcheen Oanth Parkash from the 2nd guru to the 10th guru and one thing I noted which I personally disagree with it. It says that after Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's Shaheedi Muslims were banned fron Heaven.
