I got an idea.

Why don't we start an "adopt a bibi" programme.

We take in a 1984 widow like a mother or grandmother and each family in diaspora supports her and her family.

We can help them with their home and help them directly with things and education for their family.

Here's another idea:

There are some successful Khalsa Schools in Canada and the UK.

Why can't these academies be expanded into Punjab to provide high quality education with a Sikh ethos.

Bro that's a fantastic idea.

That h.aram.i ( sorry some people might find that word offensive but what else can you call someone who refuses to help his own people and takes money off Sikhs solely to spend on non-Sikhs) Ravi Singh has collected £5 Million and he is sitting on it and now asking Sikhs to make KA a £100 million charity. When you see how much our people have suffered and how many families have been destroyed then you get angry when you see him posting pictures of his charity running around setting up tents and feeding those for whom the other charities have collected millions for. Each post he puts up is like putting salt on the wounds of these Sikhs in need.

I live just around the corner from him and sometimes see him out and about walking. I feel like saying something to him.

Yh that's a gd idea. My sister been sending money to a girl from a slum in Varanasi and she writes letters back giving updates in her life etc

If a family start sending money to a Bibi it could really help.

Bhai Khanaiyas act was spiritual, he was in a state that probably only a tiny minority of Sikhs are in today. He had conquered the illusion of duality and saw Guru Sahib everywhere. Only someone who is in that state can probably explain it. It had nothing to do with him being a sjw, its beyond our understanding.

To use his spiritual experience and state and equate it to something like khalsa aid is ridiculous. Its 2 completely different things.

I don't think anybody apart from Guru Maharaj has the right to do nindya of someone else's sewa. We're not antarjami, how do we know what is the internal avastha of someone else, right?

Such a person's avastha, intentions, and inner life are apparent in their conduct, behaviour, and speech. Considering that we live in an age where people have no qualms about divulging their most intimate and personal details for the whole world to see, it is possible to gauge someone's intentions based on the information they choose to share with people in various forms. It isn't some great, unfathomable mystery lost to the universe and the Creator.

I think we need to help ourselves directly rather than rely on these charities and institutions.

We have many obstacles but maybe the obstacle is the way.

That is where the solutions are.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
