Why did they let her in?   I dnt think there is any other group of people that are besharam enough to welcome and let in the person that ordered the destruction of their holy place. we've been a lost cause for a long time.

I think it’s because of the concept of how everyone of welcome to any gurudwara. But like u have a point. Why should we let the person who attacked the darbar sahib, massacred many children, and destroyed the akal takht, into the darbar sahib

And that was during one of our most militant times. We're 10 times worse now.

Our good old gadar boys from the sgpc and akali dal came to the rescue. The very ones that conspired with the indira congress indian govt to bring in the army while they saved their own lives.

If akali dal wanted to they could have done a bandh of punjab and bring the state to its knee's and force the government to conceed to the demands but they were give incenstives back door sweet heart deals to keep quite and on board the system. So they are part and parcel of the system that oppresses Sikhs. Even hindus get oppressed by the indian state because if hindu's lived according to their own religious teachings and rights they would go against the laws of the indian parliament and so many of their new age guru's and swami's been imprisoned and in jail cos of crimes that are secular but in hinduism would not be considered crimes.

How are people supposed to flourish if our "own" are sellouts.

indira visiting Sri Darbar Sahib to see her results happened when Sri Darbar Sahib was still under the control of the army. There was no issue of giving her any more welcome/permission than was given to abdali, massa ranghar etc.

After OP Blue Star, the army held the complex for around 3 months to get Sri Akal Takht Sahib and other buildings repaired before it was handed over the SGPC. The indian govt needed to hide as much evidence of its acts as possible. indira's visit took place during this time. giani zail singh, her pet rat, visited about 2 or 3 days after the main attack was complete.

Don't knock them for each and everything. Akali Dal/SGPC had no power at that time. They were all in army confinement.

In the days before blue star, the Akali Dal announced, as part of it's morcha, that none of it's members would send grains to the mandis - the market where the government buys its grains from the farmers. Since at that time, Panjab supplied some 75% of india's wheat, it would have virtually destroyed india's balance of trading internationally, since india exports a lot of grains to buy other products it can't manufacture itself.

This seemed to be a catalyst because as soon as the announcement was made the govt fearing this mobilised its ravan sena towards Panjab in a matters of datys.

Even today, because Panjab govt and to some exent the indian govt still need that produce from sikh farmers, the sikh farmers/Akali Dal can still use it to their leverage if, IF, they had the temerity to do so. You see, just like we in the west like to see our weekly wage, monthly salary in our bank account, the farmers of Panjab want that money for their grains.

If even for 1 year, every village in Panjab, decided to withhold grains from the mandi, or if they grew enough just to feed the whole village, it would cause the state govt immense problems.

Granted they did a few things for the kaum in mid 60s to late 70s. The akali dal morcha's especially stop the grain agitations were beginning to bite and thats where rajiv gandhi recommended DDT's sant bhindranwale to his mother indira to divide the Sikhs especially the akali's and project him as the militant voice of Sikhs in late 70s. Meanwhile the indian establishment were conducting covert state terrorism attacks throughout punjab via super secret "the third agency" and sant bhindranwale was being blamed and had become the fall guy for what was really being planned.

So i'm not gonna knock all of akali dal however certain agents within the akali dal such as badal, tohra, harchand, etc did sell out to save their own lives. They definitely were dodgy, their roles were complicit if not directly then indirectly inviting the indian army into darbar sahib whether knowingly or unknowingly the deep rooted conspiracy that was already planned by indira's congress against them and the sikhs of punjab.

I'm guessing covert secret R&AW pro-india militants (pretending to be Sikh separatists) scared the akali dal politicians so much that these guys they were convinced something had to be done and they were compelled to bend over and call for help from indira to come to their rescue, just as how she wanted and planned it. Basically everyone got played apart from the establishment elites in power who were pulling strings from above in a very clever deadly chess game.

As the old saying goes in war the first victim is often the truth. As we  uncover and unravel the documents of the past we get a better understanding and clearer view of what was really going on.

The stopping of grain to the mandis never took off. As soon as the announcement was made indira sent the army to Panjab.

It was Zail Singh who was tasked with providing a counter-force to Akali Dal. He, according to himself, gave funds and such to the Dal Khalsa. Sant Jarnail Singh only became a serious opposition to Akali Dal from around September 1983 onwards.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
