That's one of the things   islamic law is really strict on art and expression. You cant even draw a face according to Islamic law. Its suppressing in so many ways. Apparently if you draw a face then you are playing gods role! That's stupid. 

You can see how indian culture is completely different to islamic. Indian culture is all about expression through art, music, clothes etc  I'm not saying I like the over the top indian way. But stuff like holi you wont see that in islamic culture. Holi/Holla is really cool. In india they have parades, carnivals, festivals etc 

Humans need to express, it's just how we are. In Islamic countries expression is haram. 

That's why it doesnt make sense when some sikhs say stuff like sikhs shouldnt participate in music and festivals like lohri etc should be banned.

Do you know how many arabs from the gulf come over to the UK and get pissed and let hell break lose   the women are the same.  That's what happens when you live in such a suppressed society.

My friend was telling me how her cousin works in a hotel in London and she told me you would be surprised with the number of arabs from the gulf that check into the hotels for quick sh@gs

The way they speak in the movies is how the punjabi news reporters speak or how the they speak at award functions etc 

Panjabi films can make Panjabi language confusing (except a few well-done films).

They tend to use a mixture of dialects, the characters can all be from the exact same place in the film but they're speaking Panjabi from completely different areas. So it's never clear if the film is in Doabi, Majhi or Malwai Panjabi. Script writers need to pay more attention to what they write. They also don't do enough research when making period films set in 20th century Panjab.  

They've started to include more English words and the Panjabi sounds different to how it was spoken before.

The depth of Panjabi as a language can never be truly captured in these movies because they're usually romantic-comedies where someone is trying to get to Canada or England. 

I believe films and songs have the potential to bring change to society and the Panjabi industry should be using it to show history and better representations of Panjab and Panjabi language which isn't just in rom-coms set abroad.

You know there's something a little bit off when the Punjabi born and raised actors and actresses in these cancerous films behave more like Westerners even in their own private lives than people like us who were actually born and raised in the West. These Punjabis feed us this steady stream of low-IQ 5hit, and most of our people lap it up.
