Just so people know the truth behind colonial propaganda. This was one of hundreds and note how he is described as a 'student-soldier'  i.e. a fresh recruit. So this is how they made people loyal.......

Was he punished because he opposed colonial rule or because he is a soldier that is being disciplined by his superiors?
