It's a German-French film with subtitles in English about a French soldier who killed a German soldier during WW1 and who after the war goes to find the German soldier's fiancé to seek her forgiveness.

It's not really a war film. It is more of what happens after the war and how the ones left behind suffer after all the victory parades are over and how they have to pick up the pieces of their lives.

Just saw Godfather 2 the other day (again!) it's long as hell but great. Saw it with younger relative, who enjoyed it.

The Joker is also a great movie in my opinion.

There is an interesting documentary on youtube called Studying for a higher purpose about a scientist called Raphael Mecholoum (I'm pretty sure I spelt that wrong!) about discovering the role of cannabinoids in our body - if you're into biology and science. He also briefly describes how his uncle played a key role in making sure the Jews of Bulgaria avoided the nazi concentration camps.

I think it's good to watch some older movies because they were a lot more creative and less formulaic than today. If you watch the first Rocky again, and know that Stallone wrote the script, directed it (I'm sure??) and fought hard to star in it, when the studios wanted a known star instead of an unknown, it's even more awesome. There is a lot of social commentary in there too.

Raging Bull is a classic!

Recent films like the Irishman is good too (another long one!)

I loved Logan too, the last one about Wolverine.
