You're assuming I rely on non-sikhs' mercy towards us in handing us our political sovereignty on a silver platter, OR to have mercy on us when they become our masters !

you're mistaken either way. Despite how unjust the world may seem to you, how much we sense a lack of justice for what we did for others in their difficult times, be it saving hindus during mughal eras or standing by kashmiri muslims when india persecuted them, the question is not that these mortals give me something in return. Rather it is that there has to be a God in this universe who will reward our "kamaai" one day . Its not just filling bellies , for poor person that didn't eat for days that morsel may be a life again.

If God is just as all religions claim, then why wouldn't he create political situations in the world that opens way for our sovereignty again ?? We serving humanity in this dark phase would definitely go to his court as a sign that we too deserve to rule a patch of land on this planet.

I might be sounding sentimental rather than prudent , but I speak right now from a place of cosmic justice

It is the God's eternal nature to purify sinners; He does not overlook even an iota of service.

Unfortunately for us, very little of the moments in our history have proved to reward us for our many efforts. Maybe that's God's way of telling us something is a little off.
