Real life miracles

Recommended Posts

A recent event at work where people on temporary contracts had to reapply and go through an interview process as there were not enough jobs for everyone. my co-worker applied but didn't get the job. She was very sad and prayed.... A week later work rang her and said situations had changed and offered her the job! I was just left gobsmacked thinking just when she thought it was all over God performed a miracle...

Similarly some relatives we know couldn't have kids due to the wife's obesity and medical conditions but never gave up praying and today they have two very healthy children.

I just happened to see this too

A family friend went India and the couple stopped at amritsar to matha tek and the wife accidentally left their passports which she was holding in her hand at the place she was sitting. They began to travel back home and suddenly realised. The husband was extremely angry at how careless the wife had been. She was annoyed at herself too but closed her eyes and prayed and kept saying waheguru on the whole way back. Much to their surprise when they got back the passports remained there untouched in INDIA!

There is a personal miracle I can share, how gurbani saved my life once.

Sikhs once asked 10th Guru that when we are travelling we get attacked by the turaks.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave a shabad and said this should be read 5 times before you begin a journey. Guru Ji gave the guarantee, that person who reads this shabad will remain protected on their journey even from death. Further Guru Ji said if someone reads this all the time their body will become invisible if an enemy approached. This is written in Mukat Marag Granth (final Q&A between 10th Guru and Sangat before Guru Ji went to sachkhand). I read this shabad for protection when leaving home

I was driving home from Uni and doing 70 mph. There was a crossroad and from a distance I could see a car waiting. Just as I was about to pass the car pulled out. It was too late to even brake, I remember thinking "that's it". I don't know how it happened but one moment I was in that situation and next moment my car was 100 meters down the road - as if Guru Ji picked my car up and put it out of harms way. I didn't go straight home, I went to the gurdwara with tears in my eyes. I had to go thank Guru Ji for saving my life that day.

The shabad is as follows

Ik-on-kar satnaam karta purkh nirbhau nirvair akaal moorat ajooni saibhang gurparsaad.

Satnaam lai purkh pchanai, Satnaam lai bachan parmanai, Satnaam lai marag chalaie, Taa kou kaal na kabhoo dalaie

Read this somewhere

Once my son, who was about two years of age at the time was ill, very ill. We took him to the Military Hospital where we were told that he had to be immediately admitted. However, we were allowed to go back to our quarters since it was time for my 5-year-old daughter to reach home from school and there was no one at home, that would also give us time to pack whatever necessary items for the hospital stay. We were told to report by 1700 hrs.

“We reached home at 1500 hrs, and I immediately started collecting items and making arrangements with the neighbors. I was called by my wife who was with our son in the bedroom. There was something in her voice that gave me a very bad feeling. I rushed to the bedroom and found her on the floor crying, and the lifeless body of our son on the bed. She could only managed to say,’Look at our son…’ I picked my son up from the bed, felt his pulse - nothing… no breathing either. The neighbors also came in, and the husband, my section commander in the unit, called for an ambulance from the unit MI Room. I also told my wife that it would be best to take him to the hospital asap. My wife said, ‘Alright, let’s pray while we wait for the ambulance to come.’ We all started praying, I was like a child begging for something to his father, I said, ‘Dear God, let my son live. He’s only two years old, he needs us, he needs his parents, and we need him. You know that we are now very far away from home, you know I can’t console my wife by myself. Why do this now? Lord, give us time to go back home, and then you can take me, but not my son. He’s too young to go away by himself, and he’s done nothing wrong…’ I don’t know how long I prayed. And then I heard my wife say with surprise, ‘Oh God, look at this!’ I opened my eyes, and to my surprise, saw that my son was moving. He opened his eyes, sat up, and said in a weak voice, ‘Mummy, I want water.’

“You know, whatever you or anyone else say about God and prayers, nothing would ever change what I went through that day. There was nothing but our prayers, heard and answered by God, that saved my boy’s life.”

My mums cousin had a baby at 50! for around 8 years she couldn't have a baby   her and her husband traveled all over Canada, America, India for a gd 8 years and tried all sorts of things but nothing worked. Her husband was fine, it was her body which was not allowing her to have a baby and the doctors eventually told her theres nothing she can do. My mum used to do Ardaas for her everyday for years, and then randomly she found out she gnna have a baby! She herself used to read Japji Sahib everyday several times a day.

She had quite a sad life, she was from India and got married one of those chavy druggy type of guys from the UK back in the 80s, he used to abuse her and had a gori girlfriend at the side, her mother in law did nothing either. She wasted 10 years of her life with that man, She then started living with a relative who just used her to do all the house work and didnt think about getting her re-settled/married, she wasted another 10 years with this relative, and when she did eventually marry a nice man who is a singh she found out she couldn't have a baby!  but now she finally got a baby and a really gd husband, hes an absolute gentleman!    you never know when Waheguru ji will turn your life around and make it perfect.  Just keep trust and your life will change for the best.

Unfortunately I'm not too sure. I think Mukat Marag is contained within Suraj Parkash granth - maybe that's where it's to be found.

Giani Thakur Singh Ji mentions this shabad here, fast forward & listen from 1 hour:

I remember when I was younger my aunty from India visited and stayed at our house and typically she and my mum would have minor but constant fall outs ....it was just so annoying.

A few years later, she was coming to stay again and obviously i feared that history would repeat itself. So I found a shabad in the sankat mochan saakhi and I only ready the first two lines of it for 40 times for 40 days (I more innocence and sharda then).... My aunty had many more visits after then and her and my mum haven't had any fall outs since with waheguru jis grace.

This is the power of faith and ardas, I didn't doubt the bani or the outcome and I saw results....  Now a days our minds are so advanced we replace faith with fear and doubt.

Imagine filling your house up with wide variety of beautiful foods. You then go away for 1 month and return to find your kids died of hunger. That’s the condition of 99.9% of Sikhs today.

Our Gurus kept no reservation in giving Khalsa panth everything in inexhaustible quantity via gurbani. Gur sargar ratani parpoore

Experiencing miracles is one thing, but those who attach with Gur-shabad can casually perform miracles too.

Bhai Gariya ji was a Sikh of 5th Guru, he appeared very poor with no shoes and ripped clothes. One day he was walking and a Muslim saint saw him and thought “Guru Arjan Dev Ji hasn’t given him anything. I’ll give him a few ridhia sidhia”. Bhai sahib immediately said “Oi what are you thinking that my Guru didn’t give me anything? Close your eyes!” The saint closed his eyes and bhai sahib said “open them”. He opened them to see the mountains turned into gold, the stones and rocks turned into diamonds. He fell onto Bhai sahibs’s feet and asked how can this be? Bhai sahib said my Guru gave me everything, including hukam to live humbly.

One day Sangat asked Guru Arjan Dev Ji that a Mata Ji comes each day to do seva at Harmandir Sahib. We don’t see where she comes from or where she goes, she just appears and disappears. She also does a weird thing where she raises her arm up and pushes it forward. Guru Ji said tomorrow bring her to me.

Next day when presented to Guru Ji, they asked Mata Ji where she lives. She said “my lord, I live in Kabul”. Guru Ji said how do you come here? She replied “first I perform my daily duties. I feed my husband and baby, I do the household chores, then I sit down and do dhiyaan of your beautiful house Sri Harmandir Sahib. Using power of surat I arrive here to serve you my lord”. Guru Sahib said tell us about the arm movement too. She said “my lord I also keep dhiyaan on my baby. When he cries, I rock the cot from here”

Wow thanks for these saakhis. I've been searching for stories of prayers being answered online and the internet was full of Christian stories (it made me realise why people turn to Christianity during difficult times).

Guru sahib has answered so many ardasa but we've never shared this experiences.  I read in bhai ragbir Singh bir's book that we sometimes perceive God as a strict angry person, who wants us to suffer for our past actions, or a God who is detached from us and is helpless due to our karma. It really made me think

Whereas in actual fact guru sahib is ready to give us everything, he is loving, forgiving;

-guru gobind Singh ji maharaj sacrificed his 4 sons and protected the khalsa,

-Guru nanak dev ji visited the worst paapis ever, the people that had no chance I.e. sajjan thug, noor shah magician, kauda rakash....

-guru arjan dev ji sat on a hot plate himself and gave us sukhmani sahib

- Guru Harkrishan sahib ji sacrificed their life for us and took away our pain .... Shri harkrishan dhaiye jis dite sab dukh jaye.

- Guru teghbhadur jis bani is full of examples of how you will be left alone nobody will stand by you but I don't know why we never hear/forget the part where guru sahib says that if u ask guru sahib for help and support he can make the impossible possible.  .... Bal chutkeo badan pare kichu na hoth upaye kaho nanak ab oath har gajj jyu hoth shahye, bal hoya bandan chute sab kich hoth opaye, nanak sab kich tumare haath me tum hi hoth sahye.

Yes it is important to accept God's bhana but at the same time guru sahib says 'nirbhau hoye bhajo bhagwaan' ... if you're really stuck in life without fear of judgement or punishment etc run to God and he will help you.

Yes accepting bhana is hard but what is harder is having faith during hard times and trusting that your prayers have been heard, remembering 'Jo mange takur apne te soee soee deve'... choosing faith over fear
