Maybe the horse was a Sikh in their past life?

The concept of respect ones steed/chariot/flag is (from a warrior aspect) deeply entrenched in the cultural traditions of Hindustan. Especially as they (as living creatures) ride in to war with warriors and can attain injury and death as well, thus their lives are also being put at risk, which is why they are given such veneration.

From an ascetic perspective (and indeed that of a householder), horses can be put to work, whilst understanding that they also have souls.

@kuldipk123 - please try not to get unnecessarily triggered. It does not strengthen your position nor does it help in any way. Even if you sense some underlying deceit, please try and stick to thr question. Thank you??

Most mature response to my question, a follow up now. Does Sikhi or even Hinduism whether you know or not tell you whether or not when you reincarnate in to whatever if you are aware that you were once a human or something else?

In short, no. However, there have been instances where the Gurus and saints have blessed people with that knowledge

Thanks. Does Sikhi in any way, shape or form venerate the cow over other animals, if yes then why?

The concept of God permeating his creation means that, even though we worship him in his transcendal form (never changing, everlasting, Nirgun), we also worship him in his non transcended form (attributive, permeates creation, Sargun). This is just as a base understanding (without digressing from the original point).

And the concept of respecting the cow is indeed a "Bhartiya" tradition, as we derive milk from them etc. All cultures will hold certain animals above others (and in some cases, have special distain for other animals) based on their religious or cultural traditions.

That being said, whilst the respect for all life is there, there is no special veneration for the cow as such.

All the nihangs say that when they read gurbani sitting near to their horse, the horse quietly listens to the bani.

God bless horses!

Lol. They are beings with a soul too. Animals can also sense the Truth presence as we can.
