Why is that a problem? Wouldnt you want to move to a place with high population of sikhs?

I settled my life here and most of my family and friends are here now. I have migrated to Australia and I know how hard it is to Start from the scratch, no energy to migrate to new place again. I am happy here and I made my future plans here according to my current life here. hope you understand what I mean.

I am gursikh guy over 30 now and finding really hard to find an Amritdhari girl in Australia.

if I search any other country than India, then Moving from Australia becomes the  problem.

Veer if you can find an Amritdhari girl in Australia or New Zealand then great. But you also should keep your options open with non-Amritdhari or Hindu Punjabi matches who do not drink alcohol and eat meat and are willing to progress in Sikhi with you in the future.

Young ladies from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the UK could well open to moving to Australia too (but focus locally as Melbourne is the Sikh stronghold in Australia). Obviously in India there is a shortage of women to imbalanced gender leaving many Amritdhari men without spouses in Punjab. So whilst Punjab may be a good bet for you on an individual level it does in turn leave another Amritdhari Bhai less chance (if people continue to insist upon Amritdhari or Sikh spouses). The Sikh population's fertility rate is now below replacement level in Punjab due to so many Amritdhari men not giving consideration to non-Amritdhari or non-Sikh spouse.

Hi I am also having the same trouble veerji. I am from Sydney and to explain the situation to others, Australia now is like the UK in the 60s, ie many young first generation migrants on student visa are the majority of the Sikh community.

Yes true the Sikh community in Australia has a much younger demographic but there are older Sikh women in their 30's looking for spouses in UK (and India) if you are finding it difficult to find someone in Australia. Melbourne community is bigger than Sydney.

Mate, I'm in the same boat in the UK, and I'm 33. It is indeed hard, and i sympathise with you greatly. And I do share your apprehensions about India.

I know friends who found luck searching online (Shaadi.com etc.). I guess it's just about casting a wide net.

Good luck Veer. Even though Sikhs should be getting married ideally between the ages of 21-24 or 25-29 at the very latest in order to statistically have more and healthier children with less difficulty in becoming parents, please don't think you are alone and don't limit yourself in terms of possible choice. From what I remember AkaliFauj, DallySingh101, Ranjeet01 are all older than you too so this is clearly a big problem in the Diaspora where 99% or more of folks are non-Sikhs. Meanwhile by the time our Sikh grooms and brides get married our Pakistani Punjabi counterparts are becoming grandparents!

Essentially it is better for Singhs to marry non-Amritdhari girls or non-Sikh girls than remain unmarried forever.

Hopefully you find someone local as the the phenomenon of Sikh men going to back to Punjab is in turn causing a problem for Diaspora women who are finding a corresponding shortage of Sikh men (just like Sikh men are finding in Punjab due to the gender imbalance and Sikh females marrying NRI's)

I think the Hajoor Sahib sikh families are a great example of Singhs settling in the area by marrying girls not from Singh families, actually from hindu families, and those women becoming sikhnis! And at the the same time, they are really good at preserving rehit whereas punjabi sikhs are currently poor at keeping rehit including those who call themselves as amrit-dharis or gursikhs!

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
