Can a Sikh guy wear a kurta dhoti ?

Kurta dhoti is a traditional Indian dress, its very different from janea or tilak. Janeu and tilak represent a religion(oppressive discriminatory practices of brahmins) In my personal opinion, ideally sikh guys should wear baana but if he wants to wear kurta dhoti for a change, he should be allowed. What are your views mam?

As per my knowledge, Guru Nanak dev ji spoke against janeu and other hindu practices of brahmin supremacy, I haven't read anything about what he said about dhoti. Plz correct me if am wrong.

I think it's usually associated with Brahmins pandits. Hence why Sikhs are advised not to wear it. 

Same as Sikhs would be suggested not to wear arabic white dresses Muslim men wear. 

Anyways most pandit boys also prefer kurta pjama these days. Many online retailers stop selling kurta dhoti because hindu boys don't prefer it nowadays lol.

I think kurta pajama is better in todays time, men stopped wearing chadar in Punjab couple of decades back.

That being said, everything probably feels nice and free under the chaddar!  with nice cool air flowing up the chaddar! all fresh, natural and breezy!  it must feel good!  I wouldn't say im a naturalist but i don't like wearing trousers i prefer loose baggy knee length shorts!   i don't like trousers, jeans are just horrid! everything feels trapped in jeans!  Mens fashion/trousers are just getting tighter and tighter! i don't understand what they are trying to do to us! 

Wear one if you want to, i don't see anything wrong with it! but i prefer kurta pyjama

I was watching this video a few years ago, urban middle class Hindus were discussing stuff and they said it makes more sense to wear a kurta and sari for women to office in a boiling hot country, but because Indians follow western standards they instead wear suits and ties to work when its boiling hot outside!

seen too many videos of bridegrooms wearing dhoti and it falling down  to say it is practical for active lifestyles . And wearing two dhotis as hindu traditions demand mean double the risk ... wearing a chaddara would be similar unless knotted  I see no real advantages except length

Pyjama is Iranian. When you say "our" style, which style are you referring to? Sikh? Punjabi? Bharati?

time tested practical wear  - trousers/jeans are second best to Bana , pyjami maybe Persian but since Punjab was an outer province so far back in history (Darius 2) it has become as good as our own . Unstitched clothing is OK for nonactive/combatant roles but we are not meant to be dressed like that . The invaders/traders may have exposed our people to stictched clothes  and I think we have benefitted from it , most Indian women dress like us Northerners, as do most men, excepting on festivals , poojas etc .
