Shastar required when Maharaj come home??

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

I want to ask whether shastar are needed to be parkash'ed in front of Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj when they come to our home for a Sukhmani Sahib or any paatth like in a Gurdwara, or is it optional?

What is the basic overall maryada to be followed when Maharaj come to grace our home? (apart from the one that no intoxicants should be in the home, that one I am aware of)

does that mean you have to take the cha-ptti (tea-bags) outside the home?
