Will be interesting to hear what the official response is for this snub.

I will say one thing, we definitely need to refine and reevaluate our politics, especially with India. You have keep a working relationship with all sides of the indian political system to stay afloat. Otherwise we will suffer from 'no one giving a $%^!' like we see now in punjab and rest of india. Politics is all about constantly making moves to benefit the people, and not becoming rigid and stagnating.

I bet this snub along with a host of other "minor" snubs have partial roots in deep state india. It's time to engage the hindutvas and not just hate and ridicule them.

One-track minds will claim you're a sellout for having this take on things. Wisdom and strength comes from knowing when to fight our battles, and when to let things pass on by. I don't think most of the people whom we consider to share our aspirations for the future of Sikhs, particularly in Punjab and India in general, are either rabble-rousing plants designed to instigate chaos and strife, or genuinely clueless albeit loyal and passionate.

we know what we and our elders have done that's enough, I'm tired of trying to get sikhs to realise that users and abusers will NEVER appreciate you; sikhs  like  that are  like battered wives suffering battered wife  syndrome  where the police woman is trying to tell the woman it's in her own interest to break the forgive, abuse, kill cycle of domestic violence but she can't hear it because she can only think that maybe if she was better then things would change . Get a clue folks ; the honeymoon  was over before it begin whereever sikhs are settled on this planet.

why not be overtly hostile to brits and gorey instead of trying to be buddy buddy with them. we r physcally stronger than them they are passified and weak why not take advantage of them i see nothing wrong in it. some will say the establishment is our enemy and not the people... but it is the people that keep the establishment running

I think you live in some fantasy land. The average gora is bigger than the average Sikh. They also have a long history of being successful in combat sports.

It looks like Lord Indarjit Singh from the one man Network of Sikh Organisations was invited and got a cold and didn't event. Whether you support Sikh representation at this event of not, we need to consider that these images are sent all over the commonwealth as well as around the world. Sikh representation also irks the Indian establishment because separate Dikh representation shows that Sikhism is accepted as a seperate religion.

The problem now is that one man who usually hogs all the limelight when it comes to Sikhs in the media or government didn't think to have another Sikh attend in his place if he was unwell. This is the sort of attitude that is prevalent in these kind of situations with Sikhs. One Sikh does not want another to take his place incase his own position is threatened. Lord Singh is 88 years old and yet in a 500K community there was no other Sikh who could be found to represent us. Shows the sad state of our community and the people who think that only they should be representing us.

Soon we will have Lord Rami Ranger representing 'Sikhs'

He's such a vile piece of ####

We should just cont with what Bhai Jagraj Singh Ji set us to do..and spread Sikhi

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
