4th Pahar night calculations

Can anyone please tell me how to calculate 4th pahar of night?

Cam someone develop an iOS app that does it automatically.

Amrit vela aka Brahma Muhurti in Himduism. It is when there is a special wavelength of light.

Not sure what you really mean but 

1st pahar day = 12 am till 3 am

2nd pahar day = 3 am till 6 am 

3rd pahar day = 6 am till 9 am

4th pahar day = 9 am till 12 pm

1st pahar night = 12 pm till 3 pm

2nd pahar night = 3 pm till 6 pm 

3rd pahar night = 6 pm till 9 pm

4th pahar night = 9 pm till 12 am

I might be wrong. Please correct me

Yeah, this is the the pahar in terms of timing.

But in terms of day and night:

Day = the four pahars that fall between 6am and 6pm.

I heard a katha about this too I'll see if I can find it.

Isn't it

1st Pahar:6am to 12 pm

2nd Pahar:12pm to 6pm

3rd Pahar:6pm to 12am

4th Pahar:12am to 6am

One pahar (from sanskrit/prakrit : Prahara) is equal to 3 hours . Day has 4 pahars , and night has 4 pahars too. 

Day pahars start from 6 am and ends at 6 pm at evening

Night pahars start from 6 pm and ends at 6 am in the morning 

So day pahars : 

1. (6 am - 9am)
2. (9am - 12pm)
3. (12pm-3pm)
4. (3pm-6pm)

Night pahars : 

1. (6pm - 9pm)
2. (9pm-12am)
3. (12am-3am)
4. (3am-6am)

Since gurbani encourages to recite name of lord in last pahar of night, amritvela is technically from 3 am until 6 am in the morning

AjeetSingh, has given slightly correct as I have heard the same, but I also heard the below: 

Day = 4 pahars

Night = 4 pahars

Day = Sunrise to Sunset

Days Pahar = Daylight hours / 4 

Night = Sunset to Sunrise

Night Pahars = Night hours / 4

For my location

Sunrise = 9 am

Sunset = 5 pm

Night pahars = 16/4 = 4 hours

4 pahars of night @ 4 hours

This means amrit vela for my location is 5am-9am.
