oh yeh I actually remembered Tuhon Pat O'Malley, he used to hold seminars with Nidar Singh and Master Mau

so maybe as someone had commented on one of his demonstration videos he has taken kali/escrima moves and made a hybrid art which he is saying is the real deal

Modern day Gatka is more of an exhibitionist sport now, it is a lot more "showy". In the practical aspect, Shastar Vidya is used in hand to hand combat and incorporates a lot of ground fighting, which Gatka doesn't do as much.

Please read previous posts. Gatka is an exhibitionist art only. No practical application.

Problem isn't with gatka teachers, problem is with gatka itself.
