I am really lost and I truly regretting a decision I made a few months back of no longer wearing a kirpan while I wear all my other kakkars. I took amrit at a young age and my love for sikhi is still strong and everything was fine until the past year around when I reached 17 to 19 years of age. I got mixed with the wrong crowd and lost track of my nitnem although i did not take part in any activity including doing drugs or kaam. Just a few month back out of shame I stopped wearing my kirpan since I felt guilty for not doing my nitnem while wearing my kirpan. It didn't sit well with me to portray my bana when I had no bani. Since then I hav started to get back on track and doing my nitnem and correcting my mistakes. Since I made the decision  to no longer wear my kirpan I have been regretting every second of it. I want to wear my kirpan and doing everything properly but I dont know what steps should be taken. Would I have to do ardaas asking for forgiveness for removing my kirpan or are there more measures that need to be taken? I am really lost and want to get back to the proper stoop that guru jo gave us and I need help?

I would say do ardaas, maybe a sehaj paath and possibly go to your panj to ask to be forgiven. I doubt your panj will tell you to go pesh. I think it you are really lucky that you took off your kirpan, which is not as drastic as committing a kurehit or losing a more permanent kakar, your vaal. I would be thankful that Guru Sahib has not yet you go to far from his path and you have come back right away. Stay safe brother/sister and Guru Rakha

Maybe you need to spend sometime thinking about what sikhi is for you. Sometimes this creates a stronger foundation and gives purpose to what your doing and why  ie why do nitnem, why wear kakkars, what is gurbani teaching us, what is life?

A bit of soul searching, why you need a Guru, what does following his path do for you. It will help to have some good sikh sangat to help you along the way. Also start doing seva regularly.

I'd say you should go before the Panj piyare at the next Amrit sanchar, whilst you realise your mistake and changed your ways as you say. You would benefit from their advice and give closure to any regret your carrying of wrong doing etc.

    • I saw the video on TikTok I think. It was at Wembley Stadium and I was unable to bookmark/favourite it because Tiktok decided to refresh. It was the "mainstream" Chaupai Sahib you will hear at a Singh Sabha gurdwaras, usually so-called Ramgarhia gurdwaras and also for the past 100 year or so in Harimandir Sahib under the current committee system.  In other words, the sikhs who give up or quit at Lord of the Almighty Sword, provides a shield for my protection. With Your Hands you have saved me. You bestow help on me at all places and rescue me from pain and the designs of my demons.401. Kharag kait mai sarann tihaaree. Aap haath dai leho ubaaree. Sarab thor mo hoho sahaaee. Dustt dokh té leho bachaaee. (25) O The Lord of Sword, I seek Your protection. With Your Hands you have guarded me. At All Times be my Support. Save me from wickedness and pain. (25).
    • Bro, can you post from what line to what line they did paath of?
    • A decade later and I can show you all what the problem is. Both Khalsa Primary School and students from Pioneer Secondary Academy were invited for Vaisakhi celebrations, and they done a Chaupai Sahib paat. The problem is, they performed the politics ridden anti-dasam Bhasauria mutilated cut version of Benti Chaupai which is disrespectful to traditional puraatan samrpadaiye and mahapurakh. If bani politics is going to be used on children to skip lines from Dasam Pita ji dhan dhan Guru Gobind Singh ji's Benti Chaupai Sahib, that certain groups think it is ok to do, then @serious guptwas right to raise concerns a decade ago! IN 2024, when sangat is much more knowledgable about dasam bani and katha, when we have so many resources - then if we are not allowing our children to learn bani shud and let them choose their groups to follow later, then this raises RED FLAGS IN 2024!!!! AKAAAAL!
