Amarnama is an eye witness account of Dhadi nath mal who accompanied Guru Sahib to Hazur Sahib. It can be read at

In amarnama, its written that Guru Sahib ordered His Singhs to jhatka the goats at Madho das (Banda Singh Bahadar) dera. Guru Sahib always loved low caste poor people.

The wild people came to Guru Sahib and Guru Sahib gifted them goat meat, 1 elephant and 5 strong bulls but did not give any cow because Guru Sahib loved cows and wild people would hv killed cows for food.

Great find!! Never been able to find the original text of this manuscript before! 

I think we also need to pair this up with the sakhi of a Singh who was forcefully converted and circumcised and made to eat beef, and Guru ji saying this was no big deal.

They never shave either Head or Beard; They sometimes wear yellow, but the prevailing Colour of their Cloths is deep blue; They make their Turbans capaciously large, over which they frequently wear a piece of pliable Iron Chain or Network.

In the starting of this book, there is an article on the greatness and importance of cows in Guru ghar. It also mentions the importance of seva of Guru's horses.

It also quotes the Uggardanti bani in which Guru Gobind Singh ji declares that He wants to end the great sin of cow slaughter from the world.

In it he writes that the prejudice of the Sikhs regarding the killing of cows is stronger than Hindus.

Gau Garib mean something else. Some Human who is not able to defend him or herself.

Regarding that one Sikh who was forcefully converted. He was made to eat Halal meat. doesn't matter what type of meat.

I believe Sikhs can eat whatever they can Jathka. Doesn't matter if it is a cow from USA or India.

We are not hindus and cow is not sacred. I don't know how many times we have to mention this.
