Lots of people from both AKJ and Damdami Taksal seem to give full Khand-Di-Pahul to babies.

In catholicism they have baptism and confirmation. Baptism is often done to children well before they are old enough to realize. It's usually redone when old enough to understand, and all sins are forgiven then. And then once older they get confirmed.

However if we look at the original baptists and then Jesus, they were baptising adults who were fully capable of making a new commitment, living up to it, and actually had sins to be forgiven.

But still catholics and christians baptise babies because they want them protected and claimed for christendom.

Really they should have other prayers of protection they offer and allow only young adults or better to be baptised.

I doubt Amrit was offered this young in Purtan Gursikhi.

The difference between Christian baptism and Amrit Sanchar is that they only believe in this life, so at least on some stance it kinda makes sense why they’d baptism kids. But in Gurmat we have reincarnation, and by Karams we are given certain lives, but ultimately have to decide for ourselves.

A lot of high quality Gursikhs did take Khand-Di-Pahul as infants though, like Surrinder Singh Sodhi, but it shouldn’t be mainstream.

I disagree.
most who take Amrit is usually in adolescence onwards.

I doubt most Baptised Christians follow ‘the life’.

Amrit is also a much bigger commitment

Just to clarify, the part I agree with is that it's usually best to wait until old enough to understand what you're commiting to.

That's the part you disagree with?

Almost zero christians follow the life as you put it.

Amrit is a way bigger commitment.
