Another dogma to which the Bhagvat Gita comes forward to offer a philosophic defence is Chaturvarnya. The Bhagvat Gita, no doubt, mentions that the Chaturvarnya is created by God and therefore sacrosanct. But it does not make its validity dependent on it. It offers a philosophic basis to the theory of Chaturvarnya by linking it to the theory of innate, inborn qualities in men. The fixing of the Varna of man is not an arbitrary act says the Bhagvat Gita. But it is fixed according to his innate, inborn qualities.

Similarly childish is the defence of the Bhagvat Gita of the dogma of chaturvarnya. Krishna defends it on the basis of the Guna theory of the Sankhya. But Krishna does not seem to have realized what a fool he has made of himself. In the chaturvarnya there are four Varnas. But the gunas according to the Sankhyas are only three. How can a system of four varnas be defended on the basis of a philosophy which does not recognise more than three varnas?

The second injunction is laid down in Chapter XVIII verses 41-48. In this Krishna tells that every one do the duty prescribed for his Varna and no other and warns those who worship him and are his devotees that they will not obtain salvation by mere devotion but by devotion accompanied by observance of duty laid down for his Varna. In short, a Shudra however great he may be as a devotee will not get salvation if he has transgressed the duty of the Shudra—namely to live and die in the service of the higher classes.

If I recall in the Mahabharat serial.

There was a crime conducted by 4 culprits each from the different varnas. 

Duryodhana (Kaurava)was given first dibs on how to punish the culprits. He said kill them all.

Then they asked Yudhistra (Pandava) and he gave different punishments. He gave the Brahmin the most serious sentence because since he was on the top level varna he should know better. The shudra being the bottom level varna was given the most lenient sentence. 

So he varied the sentence according to their varnas.

Here's an interesting extract from Gobind Gita regarding caste:

The passage below is from the 14th chapter of the Gobind Gita, written by Guru Gobind Singh. One can find this composition in the Patna Sahib bir of Dasam Granth.

 

ਖਾਲਸੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਕੀਓ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥ ਜੋ ਅਰਜਨ ਕੋ ਕਹਿਓ ਨਰੇਸ ॥ ਏਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਸਭੀ ਕਛੁ ਜਾਨੋ ॥ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਆਪ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਏਕ ਮਾਨੋ ॥ 62॥

I deliver this teaching to the Khalsa, which was delivered to Arjuna by the Raja [Krishna]. Recognize the One Akal in all, understand the entire creation as that One Gobind .

ਬਰਨ ਆਸ੍ਰਮ ਤੁਮ ਸਕਲ ਤਿਆਗੋ ॥ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਸਦਿਨ ਲਾਗੋ ॥ ਜਾਨੋ ਸਭ ਕਛੁ ਏਕ ਅਕਾਲ ॥ ਜੋ ਦੇਖੈ ਏਕ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਲਾਲ ॥63॥

Forsake all caste and ashram's [designated Hindu stages of life], forever be absorbed in the wisdom of Brahm. Recognize the One Akal in all, wherever you look there is that One Beloved Gobind.

U can get a much better version of Gobind gita than the above which has many mistakes.

 

Nirmala darshan Singh shastri has printed the Gobind gita from the Dasam Granth sarup written by baba deep Singh currently at Patna Sahib.

He has also done its sudhayee with some other puratan Pothis of Gobind gita.

Gobind gita is deep literature just as other compositions of Dasam Granth Sahib.

It's an adaptation from krishan gita. It has 3 kind of baani

1. Translation from krishan gita

2. Translation with editions and changes by Guru Sahib

3. Totally new baani of Guru Sahib.

The below falls in 3rd category and clearly states that in sikhi there is no room for varna system.

Veerji the above is from gela ram publications. It has many mistakes plus at the end of every chapter,lines r added which are not in the gobind gita of Patna Sahib Dasam Granth Sahib.

It's literary crime.

Gobind gita printed by darshan Singh shastri is shudh and correct.
