Are we prepared to be on the path of Sikhi? 

I have seen far too many Sikhs get baptised then THAT'S IT! AM HIGH! YOU NEED TO TAKE AMRIT TOO. Unfortunately, wrong way to go about things. Simply put, we think we can sort out the world now that we are 6 months into Amritdhari jeevan. 

We read "Jath paharra Dheeraj suniar, aehran mat wed hathiaar, bhanda pao amrit <banned word filter activated> dhaal..." Now let me ask. Where is your vessel and who is your Goldsmith? Are your tools blunt or sharpened? What virtues have you gained? 

"Na ho jathi Sathi nhi padia, moorakh mughda janam gwaiia..." Boys and girls, have you got your mind in control or had you given into kaam vaashna? 

"Kaam krodh lobh bhau bharia, mil saadhu khndl khnda hi." Oh Sikh! Have you shown nimarta today or were you attacking others on Sikh Sangat as you didn't like their views / easily retaliated in return? 

Yes, we do 7 baanias a day but when will we see WHY are we doing it? 7 baania is the tool to prepare Sikhs. But we must pay close attention and follow it, start applying tukhts in our jeevans. Mahapursh first became Mahapurakhs THEN they started prachaars. If they ever told anyone "Go take Amrit," history has it that Naamdhari/ Mona became Shaheed or great mahapurakhs themselves. Brahmgiani will recognise another Brahmgiani. What do we do?? "You should take Amrit..." 5 years down the line the forced individuals break or leave Amrit. 

Instead of sorting out others it's about time we sort out ourselves.

I think it would be good that there is a minimum time commitment, e.g one year, where one has to 'prove' themselves that they can keep rehit and live as an amritdhari before taking Amrit. They would have access to mentor also. 

The downside is that might discourage a lot of potential Amritdharis who make their mind up shortly e.g. before Vaisakhi. Also, might turn this too much into a 'business model' .

Be interesting to know what the stats are on how many strict to Amrit by one year or five years on

Personally I wouldn't take Amrit until the house inside is sorted , no point decorating a house that doesn't have the best foundation.
