Mia Khalifa shows Support for Sikh Farmers killed

 

Mia Khalifa showed her support for the farmers that lost their lives during a protest in the Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh.

Former adult film star Mia Khalifa took to her Instagram story to show her support for the four Sikh farmers killed.

Nine people died during a protest in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh on October 4, 2021.

The junior home minister Ajay Mishra’s vehicle collided with four Sikh farmers who were protesting against new agricultural laws.

The Sikh farmers had assembled to protest Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Mauraya’s visit to Banbirpur.

Mia Khalifa reposted two images from the popular Instagram account Sikh Expo (@sikhexpo).

The first image was a sketch by artist @desipun1.

The second image shared with her 25.3 million followers stated the names of the Sikh farmers who were killed.

The Sikh farmers were identified as Nacattar Singh, Daljeet Singh, Lovepreet Singh and Gurwinder Singh.

The Sikh farmers were killed as vehicles pushed protesters as they made their way down the Tikunia-Banbirpur road.

Following Rihanna and Greta Thunberg, Mia tweeted in support of the Sikh Farmers in February 2021.

She said: “What in the human rights violations is going on?!

“They cut the internet around New Delhi?!”

Mia also shared a picture from the protests wherein a man is seen holding a placard that read:

“Stop killing farmers!”

Following the incident, authorities have suspended internet services in Lakhimpur Kheri to calm tensions.

Police office Arun Kumar Singh said schools have been shut in the district and people have been advised to stay indoors following the violence.

Rakesh Tikait, a senior farming leader, said the Sikh farmers’ bodies will not be cremated until the government accepts their demands.

    Congress leader Rahul Gandhi returned to Delhi on Thursday afternoon after meeting the family members of those killed in the violent Lakhimpur Kheri incident. Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tried to meet the kin of the two deceased BJP workers in Bahraich but was refused permission by the police.

    "I wanted to meet the two families of BJP workers ( who died in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident). I asked the inspector general that I would like to meet them if the families want to...but he straight away told me 'no they don't want to'. Then I said okay they convey my condolences to them," she told reporters.

    A delegation of Congress leaders from Jharkhand, led by state Congress president Rajesh Thakur, was stopped by the Uttar Pradesh Police near Wyndhamganj in Sonbhadra district while going to Lakhimpur Kheri to meet the farmers, late last night.
