Hi all I wanted to know more

about funeral rites and how they are performed, how to be able to perform them if the person has been in a freezer for over a year due to investigations and also what happens to their soul if the body hasn't been cremated yet.

Other Sangat will have to finish the full answer, but rest asured, what happens to a body outside the atmas control is not going to limit it. It will be nice when the proper rights can be performed, but don't worry, you can't break the systems of spiritual development with technicalities.

Once we die, our souls leave our bodies. It doesn't matter if it's burned, beaten to death etc, when you're dead, you're dead.

What happens to the soul? The soul INSTANTLY goes either towards hell or heaven directly after humans have breathed their last. By instant, I do mean INSTANT. 

As for last rites, get in touch with a Giani ji from the Gurudwara as well as funeral services. Tell both Sikh ways of performing last rites.
