What do you guys think will be the future of india in the next few decades? The country is becoming so much worse than before and there is a mass exodus of middle class people. Seems like very bad times are ahead.

Left-leaning, globalist types? Because I doubt the right-wing, pro-Nationalist types are leaving. Don't think for a moment that the latter category is exclusively populated by the easily-riled, semi-literate villagers. There are many die-hard "Bharat" sorts in the celebrity class. Whether it's genuine or they're leaned on by Indian politicians and in-betweens to make their pro-Indian views public, is up for debate.

My dad's friend is a rss member and he had been trying for years to leave india and come to canada. You are mistaken if you think the right wingers are not trying to leave infact they are hypocrites who will support the same govt they escaped from once they move to a new country.

Interesting. So it's almost like adhering to a public image of being seen to support your country for these types, while the reality is they don't stick around to practice what they preach.

Nothing surprising there. Central and Eastern India have always been dirt poor - Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha.

Even a few  hundred years ago?

Weren't there many well-educated and wealthy (and still are) Muslims who went to Pakistan from UP (Muhajirs) ?
