What you're talking about there is as fine as a c**t hair. It's probably impossible to do the latter without some of the former. People exploit all moves.

It's the belief that they aren't ashamed of what they did. Part of "Wanting to stand out in a crowd" ethos. Commendable but naive. Smart quoms understand the need for tactical retreats so they can live to fight another day. Poorly lead quoms such as ours tend to self destruct and eventually disappear under a procession of bad decisions.

On Saturday (October 16), Lakhbir Singh was cremated amidst tight security in his native place in Cheema Kalan in Punjab, days after he was lynched to death by Nihang Sikhs at Delhi-Haryana border for the alleged sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. However, no Sikh priest came forward to perform the religious rituals for the last rites, and the villagers also stayed away from the cremation.

As per reports, only about 12 of the deceased’s family members were present during the cremation. It included Singh’s wife Jaspreet Kaur, sister Raj Kaur, sister-in-law Simranjit Kaur, mother-in-law Sawinder Kaur and three minor daughters. The family members were directed by villagers to not perform Sikh religious rituals and conduct only the last rites of Lakhbir Singh. No Sikh priest performed the Ardas (Sikh religious prayer) for the deceased.

A video of his cremation was shared on social media by journalist Sachin Gupta. In the video, Singh’s family members could be seen grieving his death while being surrounded by a large contingent of police personnel. The body of the deceased was brought to his village at around 7:45 pm in an ambulance and was directly taken to the crematorium. In order to expedite the cremation, Lakhbir Singh’s body was doused in diesel.

Upper caste hegemony and denial of decent last rites

The ‘Savarn’ (upper caste) Sikhs in the Cheema Kalan village in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab had earlier objected to bringing the mortal remains of Lakhbir Singh to his native place. The Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee had not granted permission for the deceased’s cremation as per the Sikh rehat Maryada (Sikh code of living). President of Satkar Committee, Tarlochan Singh, said, “We will not allow the family of Titu to cremate him as per the Sikh rehat maryada. His cremation will take place in the village, but his last rites will not be allowed to be performed in the Sikh tradition.” He stated that the decision was taken following a meeting during which a ‘gurmata’ was passed.

The article does not do any justice at all its one sided. Why did the Singhs take it in their own hands to get justice, because the local/central government and doing nothing at all. The organisers behind this are paying good money to those doing beadbi and when handed in to the Police walk free after 2-3 days , thats how they entice them to do such acts. But not this time , the Singhs did good , the world needs to know Guru Granth sahib Ji Maharaj is the king of kings , the Guru for the sikhs . enough is enough no more beadbi or suffer the consequences.

when one fights for the truth and seeks justices , does not run away and hide. Thats the beauty of Sikhy and its teachings. The Singh ( one in a million) felt the pain but had the courage to do something about it , respect to him and may he stay in Chardi-kala. He felt his duty was done , and handed himself in as to say " I have seeked justice for my Guru , my job is done do whatever you want of me, but let this be a lesson to those who think twice of doing such atrocities. The justice system has done nothing about it , the perpetrators will think twice about committing such crimes again. ( I sincerely hope they do)

The downside of it is media , painting the wrong picture and the Sikhs being wrongfully attacked/abused . This is where I think the main big gurudawara should fund projects to educate the people village to village regards to what is Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji maharaj and preach that anyone seeking help , struggling in life the Gurudawaras are open to all and can guide /help them. Obviously this will take time and changing the mindset of the people is a enormous task , but i think we must start somewhere.

I know part of turning themselves in is to spare all the innocents. Indian cops will rape your whole village til they find you or get info etc, or mass arrest everybody and torture them. 

Also the public message must be sent as a deterent. 

Public message can be left other ways. 

As for the rape and illegal detention it should be open season any time that's going on until it stops. Higher up the better. 

Then nobody has to turn themselves in.

Hello as we are all aware recently there was an incident where a guy disrespected guru granth sahib ji Maharaj.

And Nihang sikhs killed the man and mulated him this is seen as a cruel display and sikhs are being condemned for this act.

I myself felt it was cruel to display the man like that however my question is what are your thoughts about that?

According to you was it right to kill the man and torture him?

I agree it seems cruel, but as @dalsingh101or @MisterrSinghmentioned, it sent a clear message to anyone thinking doing beadbi which would have happened if this Lakhbir was treated leniently. 

What punishment do you think would have been better?

Do you think the Nihungs should be doing langar seva instead for these types ?
