Why are you particularly attached/attracted to Muslim/Sufi names? Those that were responsible for the genocide of Indians and still are? Sufis are still involved in the abduction/love jihad of young girls not from their community. Afghans have just expelled all of the remaining Sikhs/Hindus under threat of forced conversion.

Or is this a symptom of your ADHD/Bipolar disorder?

I like the names Zorawar and Fateh because they sound good, and secondly the dude said Arjun not Arjan. All our Sikh gurus were Hindus before, do you not remember. Of course they will have Hindu names. I just don’t want to name my kid Arjun. It sounds really Hindu. Why is everyone here always getting angry for no reason. I want everyone to know my child is a Sikh and no Muslims are naming their kiddos Zorawar or Fateh, like ever. Lol.

She must be regarded. Just the fact that she holds the name of one of our Gurus in contempt because she perceives it as hindu but is alright with sullay names says it all.

he said Arjun not Arjan get a grip on yourself!!

What? First of all get your facts right. Just because modern Hindus use these names doesn't mean it isn't apart of our culture. What consitutes a pure Panjabi name? Panjabi names are derived from both Sanskrit and Farsi. It seems you don't want to associate with Hindus. I hope you realize the original meaning of Hindu was an individual who lived past the Indus river and practiced a dharmic religion. The modern meaning of Hindu has nothing to do with the puratan meaning. These are names that are part of the overall dharmic spiritual culture. Look at all the Gurus names except for SatGuru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Maharaj. Each Guru Maharaj had Sanskrit names. You can even look at some of the Sahibzaade of the SatGurus such as Lakhmi Das and Sri Chand

Just look throughout our history we had Singhs named:

Akali Baba Hanuman Singh Ji 96 Crori.

Akali Baba Prahlad Singh Singh Ji 96 Crori.

Two modern examples I can think of are:

Bhai Avtar Singh Ji Brahma Nihang

Bhai Durga Singh Ji Arifke

There are PLENTLY more.

Ok good for you but I’m not naming my kids Durga, Prahlad, Hanuman, Sri Chand, or Lakhmi but you can LOOOOOOOOOOLLLLL ?

Yes ofc everyone knows that, literally so many Sikhs were Hindus before. And duh of course I don’t want to associate with Hindus. Why should we. We’re now our own religion and community, we should develop our own beautiful names.

To me this just clearly illustrates the outcome of the folly of adopting bull5hit, racialised british ideas like scythian hor5eshyte theory. Yeah, you're right, it isn't entirely her fault (if she is what she claims). But notice how effed up her identity is due to these stupid outside 'theories'. And she isn't the only one!  She's gone straight to Teja Bhasauria territory as a result!

We need our own parcharaks to understand this and demolish these types of theories that were typical divide and conquer strategies.

If Sikhi is going to spread anywhere in mass numbers in the foreseeable future, it's not going to be in europe, or Africa, it'll be in India. Coming off as some fudhu who thinks they are some descendent of some master race isn't going to help. Plus this was NEVER a part of Panjabi let alone Sikh thinking before angle-saxon fudhoos put it in pendus heads.

Dude, why do you make everything about caste.

I’m not a Muslim and I’m not a Hindu. Although tbh I will admit I am more influenced by Muslims and I think their names are prettier – names like Saira and Noor for example. I don’t like names like Durga, maybe you can name your kid that?

I'm not loved by all. I don't seek to be. I. Don't. Leave. Anything. Unanswered. Like it or not you get my truth.

These trolls can't respond to points because they'd lose the debate and it steers them away from their agenda.

They will not talk Gurmat.

Lol so you think copying and pasting a gurbani quote will prove anything? You are so weird, seriously. Whatever money Dully gives you from his construction job isn’t worth it, find a more reliable source of income.

Like my name is Jasleen, is this a Hindu name? I don’t think so. There are specific Sikh names that other communities don’t usually have. Whatever though, why does everyone here get mad so easily. And no you can’t find me online with Kaur because that’s not official so idc if you know my first name.

My favourite first name for a boy is Mirza though I love all the old folk songs about Mirza Sahiba :p

After being sniffed out they refused to read..

ਹਿੰਦੂ ਅੰਨ੝ਹ੝ਹਾ ਤ੝ਰਕੂ ਕਾਣਾ ॥

The Hindu is sightless; the Muslim has only one eye.

Then they try and gaslight the Sangat like it didn't happen. Go back and read this thread and see. Caught. Gone quiet. Come back to blow smoke up your <banned word filter activated>. No shame.

Just a sec. I'll link the thread. And watch how many of us forget what they saw.

Glad you liked the names. I'm trying to make an account so I don't have to be Guest anymore.

Mirza is a good name but I wouldn't name kids anything out of Punjabi folk love stories (Ranjha, Heer, Sassi etc) because they might get made fun of since these ended in a tragedy although Sahiban seems okay.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
