I think for a group that’s open to marrying their cousin so that they don’t have to marry outsiders, the idea of marrying a Jew is crazy.

It's not that they woke up one day and decided to marry Jews, but over the course of centuries owing to migratory movement to the subcontinent, they might have ended up adopting the host culture and religion to better fit in. But that inner draw to mercantile activity just couldn't be shaken, lmao.

Its not casteist. It's a cultural thing. I m from jatt family but I never say anything bad about saini, kamboh, ramgariye or chamaar brothers but I hv had very bad experiences with bhappaas.

In fact I had better experience with Hindus and Muslims in delhi than bhappaas.

Bhappaas are very sweet on face and you never know their inner real intentions.

Bhappaas feel they are the most sophisticated Sikhs compared to rural background Sikhs.

Bhappaas also feel that all gurdwaras belong to them because all Guru Sahibaan were Khatri.

Any more jokes you want to share here that you are not casteist. Your kind are full of themselves and are responsible for the division amongst Sikhs.

Pakistan govt cancels cultural event at Kartapur Corridor

Yudhvir Rana / TNN / Mar 17, 2022, 23:55 IST
AMRITSAR: Succumbing to the pressure of Sikh bodies, Pakistan government has cancelled its five-day-long Jashn-e-Bharan (Spring festival), scheduled to be held at Kartapur Corridor in Narowal district from March 23 to 27.

Talking to TOI on Thursday, Muhammad Latif, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Project Management Unit (PMU), which manages Gurdwara Darbar Sahib and Kartapur Corridor, said their very purpose is to ensure that “maryada (Sikh code of religious conduct)” is not violated here. “Since the Sikh bodies have objected on the festival, we have decided to do away with it and now we will have only one-day celebration on March 23, which will begin with the recital of gurbani.”

Prominent among those who raised the objection is Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhk Committee (SGPC). SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Thursday said promoting Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib from a commercial point of view is not appropriate. “Only gurmat samagams (religious congregation) should be held there and in its close proximity. If this (Jashan-e-Baharan) programme takes place, it will not only seriously hit the concerns of maryada of the gurdwara but also hurt the sentiments of Sikh Sangat.”
Stating that the gurdwaras were the centres of flourishing the Sikh faith, from where the message of the Gurus was given to all mankind, he said it is very important to maintain the entire environment around the gurdwara as per the Sikh maryada but the scheduled event of the Pakistan government is not as per the gurmat.

The SGPC president has also asked the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) president Ameer Singh to take up the issue with the Pakistan government.
BJP leader Sarhand Singh has also raised objections on the entertainment event scheduled by the Pakistan government.

With an aim to attract the people to Kartpaur Sahib, the PMU had planned five days of musical event with folk songs of Arif Lohar and other singers, along with other attractions like dhol and horse dance show etc. near Gurdwara Darbar Sahib where Sikh’s first master, Guru Nanak Dev, had spent his last 18 years of life.
The Kartarpur Corridor was constructed by India and Pakistan to enable Indian pilgrims to cross over the international border and return on the same day after paying obeisance at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.

Of late, the Pakistan government had started developing the Kartapur Corridor as a tourist attraction and had been holding various non-religious events, which invited the ire of the Sikh community.

Sorry I can't help myself.

"No no no, you keep serving Langar, and we'll see to selling your sist...commerce. We're thinking like a uk theme park...."

Bad jokes aside, some commerce in the area probably isn't dumb if done right?

Why do these Pak Youtube channels covering Sikh pilgrims make their titles so weird? They have to emphasise theres a "girl" even though men are with them too. They should write pilgrim to be respectful?

Kartarpur Bazar | Indian Sikh Girl Praising Pakistan | Indian Sikh Females in Pakistan | Sikh Yatri

Sleaze. They have some ambition to kidnap/convert etc maybe? Sikh women are regarded higher in that sense than Hindu women I think .

As a female, what is your view ?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
