Double dealing by farm leaders after 26th Jan

Remember how quickly the Sikh youth were disowned by the farm leaders the same evening of the 26th of Jan from the Singhu border stage, this was what was also going on in the background. One of the farm leaders (my bet is on Rajewal) sent a list of Sikh youth to the Delhi police telling them to arrest them. Rajewal was also the one who was sending secret letters to Amit Shah requesting that the farm laws just be amended while on the stage he was demanding that the farm laws be repealed. Now he thinks he can become CM of Punjab by leading his new party of comrades and sell outs.

I think he wanted to get support from the UP farmers leader, but he is not getting involved in politics

I thought from when I first saw Rajewal he looked 'off'

He is 78! Maybe he has seen the example of old man Biden and got inspiration

Balbir Singh Rajewal (born 20 August 1943) is a farm union leader and politician. He is founder of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rajewal) and the Chief Ministerial candidate of Sanyukt Samaj Morcha party for the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election. Rajewal is known for his active participation in 2020 Farmers' protest.^[3]

Early life[edit]

Rajewal was born on 20 August 1943. He started his career as a telegraphist in the post and telegraph department but in 1968 he resigned from his job.^[4]

Farmer activist[edit]

In May 1972, Rajewal formed Punjab Khetibari Union with merger of 11 peasants group in Chandigarh.^[5]

When in 1978, PKU transformed into Bharatiya Kisan Union, he was appointed as Secretary of the Union.^[4] He is also credited with writing the Constitution of BKU. He also worked with Mahendra Singh Tikait and Sharad Anantrao Joshi. In 2009, he went on hunger strike and demanded relief for farmers under draught funds and then Government granted 800 crore rupees for the same.^[4]

2020 Farmers Protest[edit]

In 2020, Government of India passed three farm acts, along with other 31 Farmer Unions in Punjab,^[6] he started protest against these laws in Punjab and then at Singhu Border near Delhi at Haryana.^[7] He is also the member of Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM).

Politics[edit]

Rajewal has been close to various political parties in past, including Shiromani Akali Dal, Indian National Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party, but didn’t accept any official post.^[8] During 2020-2021 Farmer's protest, he was against any political participation.^[9]

People want a change but with Rajewal and his cronies all they will get is more of the same corruption and backstabbing. Its still a few months before the election, I expect more and more disclosures to come out which will show Punjab the real face of this sell out.

We are too gullible to understand from our short history (1947-…). There won’t be any pro-Sikh CM of Punjab regardless of whoever takes that seat. Again, pls do not think or hope of anyone becoming CM will represent Sikhs of Punjab. Instead of seeing a Sikh-in-name-only, I would probably pick someone who is only in good governance for all and truly unbiased in religious dhara-bandi. 
 

The only thing we all Sikhs need to worry about is to stop the religious institution deterioration.

The comrades who have never won more than 1 or 2 seats throughout their history in Punjab now see that they can use the repeal of the farm laws to become politically active. No matter what 'sewa' this guy Swaiman Singh did, his ideology is anti-Sikh. Hear how he refers to Guru Nanak as a comrade! To equate the life liberating Gurmat of the Gurus into an ideology like Communism which caused the mass murder and deaths by famine of tens of millions in the 20th century and which has failed in each and every country that it has been tried in shows the deviousness of this person. I would not trust him one bit. He is a western educated person so he is not someone in Punjab who does not even know the history of Communism in the USSR and China under Mao. He is devious to the core.  It is looking like some deal was done in Delhi that Rajewal and the comrades would divide the vote in Punjab and hence the BJP which would have lost badly any seats that they fought in would be able to get a dozen or on seats just because on the division of the votes.

I am really confused about it all.  Agree with commrades, they were against Sant Ji too. But Idk he seems too smart to be commrade, could be a case of faking it (playing politics but he is panthic at core)  and wants the best for Punjab. I am talking reality he seems only 'good' leader Punjab has had in long time that can bring change to Punjab.

Can anyone openly support Sant Ji and run in Punjab without any risk? 

He has done immense seva for the kissans though. You can't discredit that despite his views.
