New Jersey, a state in the US, passed a resolution condemning the 1984 Sikh massacre in India, calling it genocide. The New Jersey Senate will present the resolution to President Joe Biden, Vice-President Kamala Harris, and other top govt officials.

To clarify, in 1984, then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi ordered the Indian Army to attack the Harmandir Sahib complex in Amritsar, Punjab. Sikhs worldwide criticized the army action and many saw it as an assault on their religion and identity. As a result, clashes erupted between the Sikh community and the Indian government.

Moreover, Indira Gandhi’s Sikh bodyguards assassinated her in retaliation to her orders. The assassination led to anti-Sikh riots across India, killing over 17000 Sikhs, and displacing around 50,000.

New jersey again. What is up. First your recognize Guru Granth Sahib Ji as alive, now you're making sure to keep the record straight. Americans already know that it was a genocide, those that know at all, but to legitimize it in the record of our law? Excellent. Hear that hindustan, go dig another toilet, and throw your <banned word filter activated> in kt.

They are probably doing this for votes.

Maybe. But that's twice that they've legally done something for Sikhi and whether they think they're doing it for votes, or money, laloji (sp?), It's actually helping us.

I mean the only way they could benefit from being sincere towards Sikhi, is to attract a lot of Sikhs to New Jersey, so they must consider us a model demographic to try and attract us bro that or somebody high up in New Jersey's been turned into a real believer.

So? That's how democracy works, the politicians are elected through VOTES to do what the VOTERS want them to do otherwise they will be VOTED out at the next election.

It's amazing the mentality of some of our people who cannot even accept something positive that western politicians do for us and have to see some negative angle in it. Sad.

Except that they don't do exactly that. What they have to do is be able to tell people enough lies, to get enough votes, so that they can beat the other candidate, who also represents multinational corporate interests, so it doesn't matter which one of them wins, their backers win, they're special interest groups win other governments win.

And as for not getting re-elected, that's not really a big deal because they've already been so paid off, in the corrupt practice of this, that they're not worried about it.  It's not like these jobs pay a lot it's that they allow you to make a lot of money by being corrupt. Look at what these career politicians make on paper, for their dutues, then compare that to their wealth. Orders of magnitude different.

There is indeed very negative angles to it even if it were to exist in the state where it was just for votes it's not even for votes bro. Not the way we think of them.
