For those reasons and the ecology reason, is probably why they're selected for constant hunting practice by Nihang. This happened during the times of the Guru Sahiban. They must have been given dispensation to cull that species.

If you think the taste of wild boar is similar to pork, guess again. Although the wild boar is related to the domestic pig, they do not taste the same. Wild boar tastes like a cross between pork and beef, with a unique juicy succulence. The meat is a bit darker, perhaps due to the healthy iron content

Yeah, I’ve never done Pesh before, but does the Punj Pyare give you a different Maryada if you already took Amrit before. (Like previous Amrit Sanchar meat isn’t a Bhujer Kurehit, but now it is?)

Yes they do give you different maryada when you get pesh.

The incident has been described in “Tareekh Guru Khalsa at pages 488 – 489). One landlord (farmer) came to Guru ji and reported that there was one very dangerous wild pig in his sugarcane field. Since last few months this was a burdon to people of this area, it detroyed their crops regularly. Many people tried to kill it but failed. Guru ji along with Panda Khan, Bidi Chand and Bhalan went for hunting this pig and killed it.
