Yes, Salafism (the most radical form of Islam) is very commonly adhered to in central Pakistan Punjab especially by the migrants from east Punjab. The Punjabi Muslims I've met appear quite radical, the liberal ones are a minority. Their extremism and hatred of Sikhs/Hindus has been confirmed by historians and political commentators who specialise in Pakistani affairs. Explains why the overwhelming majority of Pakistani terrorists in the UK are Pak Punjabis:

I’m from Telford myself and majority of the pakistanis that live here are punjabis. They’re mainly from places like jhelum, Gujrat and Lahore and from what I’ve read and heard, the grooming gang from Telford were all punjabis. OP’s right the perpetrators are from all over Pakistan ,and it’s sad to see how some of our people claim pak punjabis as our brethren just because we speak the same language. I’m glad gurdwaras are raising more awareness about this issue it’s the only way we’ll be able to protect our children.

Some street guys didn't, but what they didn't know then was that the police, social services and government themselves were actively covering up for the groomers and undermining the brother's endeavours and criminalising them.

Still think you're overplaying the importance of the people not far from Lahore like Faisalabad. The 'wrong uns' from my observation are mainly from Northern Panjab like Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Gujar Khan, Gujrat and Jhelum areas, which are near to the 'Azad Kashmir' area, if not Mirpuri

Definitely agree their influence on other Pak Panjabis though here, and that religion comes first by far for majority of them compared to our Panjabis

People from Jhelum are some of the worst people to come out of Pakistan, agreed. They're involved heavily in everything from fraud to grooming. That terrorist who held the Texas synagogue hostage was from Jhelum. The London terrorist Khuram Butt was from Jhelum too. The honour killing victim Samia Shahid was murdered in Jhelum. Shafiela Ahmed's family were Pak Punjabis from Gujrat.

The Faisalabad ones were the ones who carried out the 2005 London bombings. I don't believe I'm 'overplaying' anything. These people have proven to be highly problematic for our community and I shall continue to speak out against them for the protection of our people.
