It looks like Simranjit Singh Mann has come second but the Deep Singh factor almost worked for him. He got about 30% of the vote in Amargarh and in nearby Mehal Kalan, his candidate came second with 20% of the vote. His son Eman Singh Mann came 3rd with 10% of the vote. His other candidates managed just 4-5% of the vote. The AAP wave was too strong, people wanted change and unfortunately the Panthic party could not place itself as that change. Lakha Sidhana came second with 20% of the vote in Maur. And our friend Rajewal got just 4% of the vote in Samrala coming 6th! The Akali Dal(A) candidate here came 4th with 6.5% of the vote.

However, the good news is that both Badals have lost and this is the best news from these elections and their party looks like it has gone down to just 3 seats at best. Such has been the defeat that if the party wants to survive they will need to ditch the Badals and with them their control of the SGPC. If the Badals lose the SGPC elections then they will be finally finished and their influence over the Panth finished for ever. Had the SAD(B) retained over 10 seats then they could have survived but not with just 3 seats. The BJP looks like they will also have less than 5 seats.

The SAD has to ditch the Badals and Majithias now otherwise it will never rule the state again.  The next 5 years will be interesting. How will Bhagwant Mann an acknowledged sharabi kababi rule Punjab, the fact is Kejriwal will be in control. The AAP winning candidates consist of rejects and rebels from other parties as well as new faces who are inexperienced. If the do some good for Punjab then we should welcome it but the chances are that the rejects will suffer the same infighting as the Congress faced under Navjot Sidhu. Let's see how Kejriwal now lives up to his promise of rs1000 a month for every adult female in the state. That's 8 million women each getting rs1000 a month = 96 000 million rupees. Let's see how he's able to pay that. He also promised that after 5 years those who had gone abroad for jobs will be coming back to Punjab for jobs. He's promised the earth to Punjabis and now let's see if he delivers.

It is difficult to dislodge the BJP once they get their claws into any state. It doesn't matter if some UP Jaats voted for BJP or not, people vote for any number of reasons, and anyway the UP Jaats are very small population compared to the rest of UP and they can only affect a few seats.

Bhagwant Mann might be an id.iot but some of the new MLAs come from a good background. Also elected was Kanwar Vijay Partap Singh who was stopped by Captain from carrying out a impartial enquiry into the Beadbi incidents. AAP will quickly lose support if they play the same games as Congress and Badal did.

We need to get savvy with the political situation. Congress needs to be destroyed in Punjab and only when that happens can we say that we have got some justice for 1984. Look at UP, Congress get only 1 seat in the elections there. Punjab needs to have a strong Panthic party which is willing to align with a dalit party like the BSP or have enough good 'dalit' Sikhs in the Panthic party to win the reserved seats for them. Manwinder Singh Giaspura is from 'dalit' background.

We should promote a policy of entryism, there is nothing wrong in Sikhs joining other parties and standing for elections as long as they still maintain a strong Panthic stand. I would much rather have someone like Sukhpal Singh Khaira as a MLA even if it is for the Congress than his losing a seat standing for any other party.

Don't let the leftist propaganda on twitter fool you into thinking Punjabis voted against religious parties. The Hindus in Hindu majority areas voted for the BJP, it increased its vote from  833,000 to  1,027,000. They also voted  for the extremist Hindu Sunil Jakhar who dreams of being the first Hindu CM of Punjab. AAP also knows the score in Punjab and they made sure they gave seats to Sikhs in Sikh majority areas and even in mixed areas while the Hindu candidates were in Hindu majority areas.

Simranjit Singh Mann's party went from 49,000 votes in 2017 to 385,000 in 2022. It would have been much more had his party stood in all of the 117 seats.

Yes look at who won seats from pathankot area. I hope sikhs now realise that this secularism will lead them no where when everyone else votes along communal lines. Just look at UP. Their plan is to make whole india like UP. Alot of muslims were hating on sikhs for voting Aap and not Congress and similarly Hindus were hating us for not electing BJP and on Twitter you can see how they are hating on us and saying now Punjab is gone it's over blah blah. And isn't it funny how all these groups want to just use us for their own benefits.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
