Isnt it sad to see their roots being cut off? What do you guys think? Sikhi is ending in  afghanistan. Also I hope they are able to keep their sikhi intact while living in a completely different religous and cultural country like mexico.

It is sad to see our people having to leave a place they had been living in for centuries. That was, ultimately, a result of US meddling.

As far as a "completely different religious and cultural country", why isn't that the US or UK? They're completely different from the Punjab, too.

It does go to show that we all need to know how to read, write and speak Punjabi. For the next generation of Sikhs in Mexico if they don't know English and you don't know Spanish, how will you communicate?

Obviously, Punjabi!

The Taliban was forcing Sikhs to leave well before the Americans invaded.

That's not entirely true, decades ago, it was common knowledge that the Taliban founder/headman Mullah Omar, held SIkhs in very high regard and had given them protected status. It was only after foreign jihadis came in (and Mullah Omar had to hide from US capture/execute parties) that Sikhs started to get seriously abused.

No the exile of Sikhs from Afghanistan started in the late 90s, I remember that's when I started seeing them appear in bigger numbers in Southall. I also met a few of them who left Afghanistan in the 90s and they said life was terrible under the taliban.
