They are God's (sorry G-d 's) chosen people after all.

"God."

According to their own scriptures, their "God" accompanied them during their exodus from Egypt in a metal object that blew smoke in its wake, and shone a light during the darkness of night-time. I think they're the chosen people of something, but it isn't God, lmao.

According to Dr. Udhoke, Maharaja Ranjit Singh was not indebted to the international bankers. Rather, his (our) empire had untold riches.

Not ours at all. Like all empires, if it would've survived, the only winners would've been the Sikh elites at the very top. We little people are trained to bask in the reflected glory of something that ultimately has no compunction in turning on its grass-root constituents, i.e. us.

i thought the same too, let Britain reap what they sow what they did to Panjab let the muslims come in refugees, until you realize Sikhs are in the losing end..either we have to side with Islamist, jihadists apologists or far-right whites/rss priti patel types.. we get the best of both worlds..how lucky are we lool

The thing to do is to go to the British and ask what they're prepared to give in return for our help. (Let them know we're talking to the other side as well.)

Like what? Full rights for Sikhs for their kakkars. Etc.

Or maybe a formal (de jure) declaration of return of the Sikh Empire to the Sikhs, or to a designated authority of the Sikhs.

Fair point. And there was plenty of Sikh sardars pushing their advantage.

But, also, the Sikh empire was different from others in the encouragement of widespread literacy (including female literacy). The Maharaja did not destroy vanquished enemies. And if nothing else, the average Sikh would have been much better off in a Sikh empire than, say, Pakistan today.

At least he could practice his religion without worrying about Muslims stealing their daughters (Nankana Sahib granthi's daughter incident).

Probably key contributors to why it all went tit5 up. Classic Sikh short-term virtue-signalling and self-congratulation that lays the foundations for future destruction.

1. Do oppose the ability of females to read? Or of the useless "advanced degrees" they are getting now?

2. The enemies I was referring to was other Sikh sardars. Allowign them to live out their days with a jagir instead of killing them.

A former IPS officer and a former MP, Mann said that the Sikhs were “peeved with Russia” for 1984 Operation Bluestar “at the call of Indira Gandhi and other like minded parties, including Soviet Union and British forces in attacking the stateless Sikhs” and reducing “the golden temple complex to dust”

OK, at the very least SS Mann is giving a somewhat rational basis for this. This would be akin  to the Sikhs getting payback in 1857 against the Poorbiyas who devastated Punjab during the Anglo-Sikh wars.

So this is not about "fight for Ukraine because they're the poor invaded country" and Sikhs have to fight for everybody without getting anything in return.

He's lost his mind. Like all those laurels from ww1 and ww2 mean shyte. Brits didn't bother to pay the ww2 Sikh sepoys pensions in the end. He's talking like a proper brainless jut now. That loyal lapdog talk.

All of us are subject to fuzzy thinking at times. That's why we all need to be able to challenge our leaders ("Mukh sevadars").

10,000 Muslim soldiers from Chechnya are on their way to Kiev to help Russia. Not something people would have guessed.

Obviously, the only reason they are fighting for Putin is having an arrangement to get something for themselves in return. Which is what Sikhs need to learn. Not fighting for "accolades".

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
