Explanation of starting portion of Sarbloh Granth

In the starting of Sarbloh Granth Sahib, it's written

Sri bhawani ji sahayee

Sri maya lachhme ji sayayee

Ustat Sri maya lachhme ji ki

Many Sikhs get confused over this.

I studied Hindi up till 10th class.

The word 'Sri' is only used for male gender. For female gender 'Srimati' is used.

So 'Sri maya' doesnt mean Maya but means Akaal Purakh ji who is Master of Maya 

'Sri bhawani' doesnt mean bhawani goddess but means Akaal Purakh ji who is Master of bhawani.

A similar analogy is that in English Mr. can only be used for male gender. For female gender, only Miss. Or Mrs. is used.

Bhawani can mean sword. It can also mean bhawani goddess. It can also mean a power or shakti of Waheguru. In all 3 cases, it is feminine.

When 'Sri' is used with It, it becomes masculine word which refers to Akaal Purakh.

Akaal Purakh is Master of Maya.

Akaal Purakh is Master of Sword.

Akaal Purakh is Master of bhawani goddess.

I'm glad we finally moving away from Singh Sabha era literal interpretations. I don't think we can even remotely try and grasp bani from Dasam Pita, using this shallow, surface style of interpretation. The bani is full of metaphorical allusions, allegory and symbology.

Sri is used for rahul Gandhi and srimati is used for Sonia Gandhi.

Srimati is used before her name and not sri
