So it begins...true face of AAP in Panjab

@proactive

I think you, Misterrsingh and Dallysingh are three of the most knowledgeable and articulate posters on Sikhsangat.

I am not so articulate. But I will try to say something anyway.

You are closer than most of us to Panjab having been born and partially brought up there, and you visit most years, I think. You understand the ground reality there better than most of us (would be nice if @shastarSinghcould also please comment).

With falling percentage of Panjab's population being Sikh and increasing numbers leaving to go abroad, and most of Panjab's history post-partition being governed by Congress Party and now AAP, what in summary, makes you confident and about the future of Sikhs in Panjab? My observation of both my own relatives and what I see in the media, is that Sikhs in Panjab for the large part are barely practising Sikhs.

In my idealistic world, I believe in quality over quantity. But as I think @SikhKoshsaid here or on SA, numbers count and 6 'sheep' will defeat 1 or 5 'lions' in a democracy. Sikh numbers even if the 'quality' is not 'high', need to increase as a percentage of the population. Either that means less non-Sikhs , or more Sikhs . To achieve that, many non-Sikhs in Panjab will need to revert/convert. Or non-Sikhs will need to leave Panjab (seems unlikely). The other way to increase Sikh numbers would be for Sikhs from other states or cities to come to Panjab, or for those like us in the West to go live there.

Do you personally plan on returning to live in Panjab ?

Do you think that for the situation to 'get better' it will 'get worse' under AAP to awaken the sleeping Sikhs ? Do you see there being more 'riots'  (like the example you gave in the other thread about Gujjars) etc between Sikhs and non-Sikhs, as Sikhs increasingly feel marginalised in their home land ?

One thing that I have noticed on this forum is that there are some people who use the forum to grind their personal axes, these being mainly Daily, MisterSingh and CaliforniaSardar who based on what personal experiences they have had determines what they think of Punjab and Punjabis (Jats in Daily's case and Sikh women in general in CS,s case). The person who wrote this rant has some very serious personal issues and these are best resolved by him outside of the forum. From what I gather from previous posts, it was freshies flexing at his Gurdwara and then I think land issues in Punjab. Using these experiences to post drivel like Punjab is finished shows that there is no even an iota of sympathy for his own people in this person especially, even Daily at least gives some constructive solutions but people like MisterSingh are here to spread their negativity and any of our enemies who reads these types of posts will think that Sikhs have already given up.

This guy is the very opposite of Chardi Kala.

As long as you express your disagreement with me in a good-natured and constructive manner, I won't get triggered. I know enough about myself and the things unfurling before my eyes to understand how things are and the way they're heading. Your experiences may point in another direction. That's fine.

This is a very Muzzy, tribal, third-world way of thinking. My priority is the truth. I don't care who's lurking or watching. I'm not going to "keep our end up" and persist under delusion to save face. Whatever; you do you.

Bhaiiyas have been coming to Punjab since the late 70s and migration to Punjab for them has become the norm, Sikligars and Vanjaras have never been to Punjab apart from some Dharmik Yatras organised by Sikh organisations. British Sikh Council which has been building Gurdwaras for them in their Tandas has been looking at relocating some to Punjab but the problem is that they are used to their lifestyle of living in Tandas away from cities and towns. It will take time to create an urge in them to come and settle in Punjab as well as resources to make their settlement in Punjab a success.

Personally I feel that the only way this can happen is if the SGPC is under Panthic control. The SGPC has the funds as well as the land holdings to create employment opportunities for them in both their traditional jobs as well as create linkages between them and the Kisans for them to work as labour for Kisans.

This is why this year is so important, the loss of Badal has created an impetus which could never be created before to take back control of the SGPC. That is why if you have relatives who are Keshdhari in Punjab, you should make sure that they register for their votes.

How can we let SGPC know we want this to happen? Like I'm not sure if there is some system where you can submit your ideas or anything. The more people know about this the better it will be. Although in Punjab I have seen many bihari labourers becoming Sikhs but I agree apne mistreat them sometimes too which I didnt know about before but have been watching some videos. Look at the video and read the description This is extremely wrong. And offcourse the typical muslims in the comments as if they dont bomb each other to death constantly talking about how great they are.

Folks need to wake up to two things..there are 'faces' (Politicians, the folks you see etc) and the 'system'. How many elections have their been since independence? It's double digits..is punjab any better?

Imagine, being so thick that time after time stuff still gets more ?, but the next election 'face' says they'll make it Rosey..but then at the next election after that the 'new' face says they'll make it Rosey because the last lot failed...then rinse and repeat.

The 'system' is broken. It will only change when the people change. You don't need a leader or politician to change it .as they are of the embedded system. As Guru no says 'some are near and some are far' from the truth.

If more people get closer to the truth the system will change...but only then.
