Ducking things (which has been the norm by our lot in the UK) hasn't helped, but made things worse. Maybe it is time for a more direct approach?

For every other issue I support the approach you are suggesting bro. Some issues  it's best to avoid the direct approach as we gain nothing and stand to lose a lot.

Well I think every gain we've made in this department has exactly been because of the direct approach some active brothers have taken. By this I'm not solely referring to physical confrontations but things like challenging the media, the police, the government. Directly addressing the issue in an uncompromised and blunt fashion in our own community too. 

If it comes to a point when our own females can be abused in droves with impunity (which is exactly what has happened) how much more is there to lose?

What you're saying is true especially the grooming part. But my post was not directed at issues facing the Sikh community or the media, police, Government. I was talking to MisterrSingh about a certain topic we have discussed before.

This is what I'm talking about. Even if one knows these things exist, a person should behave and feel as if it's all bull5hit. They have no power over the individual if he or she doesn't devote energy to worrying or being afraid. "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

All the genuine sants and mahapurash of the past would deal with these types of issues when people came to them, but they'd always tell the afflicted to move on and forget about it and the past, too. It never clicked previously for me, but when recently reading old esoteric texts about spiritual problems such as these, they re-emphasise constantly about breaking mental links. I wish our religious babeh had the intellectual wherewithal to explain it in this way. I thought they were being grouchy.

You guys are so focused on Muslims that you fail to see the bigger picture. Muslims aren't our friends. Neither are Atheists. Neither are Christians. Neither are Hindus. Neither are most people who call themselves Sikhs.

You seem to think that Muslims pose a unique threat to Sikhs. They don't. You bring up recent developments in Punjab. Okay. Have you noticed how our problems were not solved after 1947 when Sikhs were concentrated in a state virtually free of Muslims (except for Maler Kotla)?

I think soon Europe's borders will get tougher. They are starting to realise the dangers. But there are so many illegals entering also which poses another unique threat.
