About the Altab Ali case, I'm not shocked by that mixed-race attacker. From what I've seen (and I've got some mixed race younguns in my family), is that some of them struggle with identity and feelings of acceptance. More so in the past than now I would guess. This makes some resentful and aggressive, and then they find a home with others like them (some crew) and act out their anger.

I remember a good few years ago some mixed race youngun in Gravesend (he was half apna and something else) ended up randomly killing some apna cab driver over there.

I am hearing about minor street level confrontations and jostling these days. We do have a lot of feral youths in urban UK. Nothing that is happening is new in my opinion, it's just a certain generation has just been sheltered from it for a while. 

We can push the police etc. for our protection, but in the urban world, usually it's a communities reputation that ultimately holds sway on these matters - that's the reality.     

Whatever the reason is, it's just straight up racism bro.  No excuses can really be made for it (not sure if that was what you were doing).  I also think a lot of the race hate from the mixed ones comes simply from us being different to them.  I mean they are both black and white (two communities who have sections of their people who hate us) so it's no surprise you could end up with a double whammy from these types.  A whole crew up in Leeds was made against Asians called the Paki Hating Crew.  It was blacks and whites.  The pakistanis in response made a gang called the Black and White hating crew.  I remember when I was younger and not as confrontational as I later became, I was talking to a mixed race girl from my class on the bus and her mixed race friend came on too and asked me what do I want (when we knew each other anyway, me and the girl).  I then heard him say to her ear, don't talk to him, he's not our kind.  I experienced other things over the years and seen it happen to other people too. 

You are right about where Asians have been tough, theses things happen less.  Tower Hamlets for example where back in the day the Bengalis had no problems going at it with the likes of the Yardies. I think in other areas such as Southall, Hayes or wherever, a lot of the time, the black on brown stuff isn't going on full on all the time yet it is still occurring in isolated cases.  So half the time, apne aren't even fully aware they are being targetted for being Asian hence there is no proper uprising.  However, I do remember meeting a Southall crew back in the day who gave the Somalis a proper hiding when the Somalis where <banned word filter activated> all the Indians for their phones. And like you said, the Somalis backed off a bit after that.  Also knew some other boys who were having regular fights with some West Indian crew and yeah it was racial beef and the kaleh started it.

Not sure what the point of this post is tbh?  We're talking about unchecked black racism here to our community (not general ghetto culutre/habits).  Hope it's not an attempt to divert the topic or something.

I've said it before. You sound old school btw. If you remember the NF days, it was really a conflict about street presence. At least in my ends. After whites (who fell surprisingly quickly in the face of stiff retaliation) , it became an issue between blacks and browns.

What's really surreal for me, is just by random chance, I bumped into a few of the old school 'asians' who got their hands dirty back then (as teenagers) who are now middle aged (met them after 25 years plus). They are still tough. 

The real problem we are having right now is how we are being perceived, and other communities tag teaming against us. This rep has to be reversed, or we'll be facing a lot more attacks in future probably. Legislation can only help so much, look at how despite all the laws and furore about anti-semiticism, jews still get routinely attacked. 

I doubt many of the newer generation will understand, but after all the b1tching about it online (if the past is anything to go by), it's going to require some bollox on their part. But by the looks of it, certain apnay would rather live in some fantasy, delusional maula-jut dream, than actually confront outsiders - and that too in their prime.......

No, but you can't look at it with simple goggles on either. 

Let's try and define the problem more accurately too. Is it 'racism' i.e. an attack over 'race' which usually gets equated to colour in the west. Or is it not about race like that, and more about specifically Sikh identity markers (i.e. dastaar) being targeted? 

Are these blacks equally likely to target other 'brown' folk or are Sikhs specifically more likely to be on the receiving end?

Sikhs are more likely to be on the receiving end because of their distinct markings such as a turban. Sikh elderly are known to carry money with them (cash) and are seen as richer compared to other ethnicities. The news reports said the black dudes were seen at the gurudwara.

I think one of my reasons was to have a half intelligent exchange about the matter, beyond the 'blacks are natural criminals/drug dealers  etc. etc.' just showing how our lot can go down this route too.
