Much of the black migration towards California came post WW2.

A lot of the migration came from the American South and it seems that now that the South has become more prosperous, a lot of black population are going back to the south.

You see the same pattern to some degrees in the midwest and north east where blacks are moving back south.

I strongly believe that a lot of apnay seriously struggle to differentiate between genuine concern about long standing inequalities in our panth through our own brand of casteism, and other generally obnoxious behaviour, and reflective criticism of it, and those who self-hate. We do have a load of common practices that stem from our (Panjabi) culture that are inimical to our other culture/dharam - Sikhi.  The latter always trumps the former. Some of the people who try and highlight and confront this, are doing so because they want to see improvements in our own society.  

Sikhi is always going to be more prudent and humane than Panjabi culture, and that's not to say Sikhi is weak, because we should all know in essence it is also one of the most militant spiritual ethos to ever emerge. 

Ultimately, the fact is that way more people align to Panjabi culture, than a Sikh worldview, they need to admit to this, and not hide this truth.  The truth is that a lot of apnay struggle to shake off corrupt and/or oppressive mentalities amongst our own that we castigate hindus for.

Well Compton didn't look that bad. The houses looked 10x better than the council estates here but I was advised not to visit  at night. Like I said when I strayed off to the more residential parts I felt a but unsafe. I found the Hispanics to have more aggro and they are the majority in Compton and South Central LA.

Well said, I want to see improvements in our community. We'll never get anywhere by playing the victim card all of the time. Do we want to be like Shashi Tharoor who blames all of India's problems on the British despite India being free for 75 years now?

Yes the invasions were bad but if we had been more united and better prepared they would not have succeeded. That goes for when we were Hindus and when we were Sikhs.

About Southall, sorry but I get very frustrated there. Like I said people don't follow the rules/law.  I remember shopping for my wedding 5 years ago, literally every single shop let me down with delays and not doing things properly. It was a serious lack of professionalism. In India they call this a 'chalta hai' attitude, it pervades the entire country and explains the chaos. Everyone out for themselves and not thinking about the bigger picture, what implications their actions are having on wider society.

The damage done for such a long time cannot be repaired in mere 75 years of independence! Think about the extensive damage  done by the Mughals and the British and then by the brainwashed corrupt  Indian leaders that ruled India immediately after the independence. 75 years is nothing.

Invasions we’re not only bad but catastrophic to those that were invaded. Indians still have slave mentality because they are so stupid to understand that they are still colonised mentally if not so much physically. It’s only recently we hear PM Modi speaking in his own language  and proudly for that! No gibberish utterances in the language of invaders or rulers at last!
