Nanak Naam Chardi Kala Tere Bhane Sarbat da Bhala

"Nanak Naam Chardi Kala Tere Bhane Sarbat da Bhala" is not Gurbani. I am trying to determine the origins of this and how it came to be apart of our ardaas. Would appreciate any knowledge that you can share.

Do provide it written where. I don't see it Dasam Bani. which Bani in Dasam Bani is it written.

It's attributed but not in Dasam Bani. As far as I can verify.

Well, you're right, it's not Gurbani per se.

Kathavachaks say that the current form of Ardas was set up by Bhai Mani Singh ji Shaheed and added to by the Panth as time went on.

That is why I believe it can be questioned. Was it added during the British rule. that would be very suspect.

What would their motive be? It looks inoffensive and cohesive with Gurmat if I'm reading it right.

It does not mean that Khalsa should not be ruling/victorious, just that we wish good on everyone

We are accepting the English meaning. The real meaning of Nanak name chardo Kala tere bane sarbat da bhala. Actually means In your hukam, everyone is well off. It means whatever you do is good for everyone. It's another way of saying Tera bhana Mitha laage. That with naam I am in chardi Kala and I accept that your hukam is best for everyone. So I don't need to ask for anything or try to change your hukam. Just accept it as all is well. 

It does not mean I ask for the welfare for all. It's the exact opposite. It means I don't need to ask or do anything as you already do the best and take care of all.
