there are so many sikhs in Canada, they are still not reducing the incidence of Kuttha such as Popeyes (I heard this from a Canada sikh online, probably on reddit or twitter) and Hortons, and even Kuttha is high in restaurants in Punjab such as Mcdonalds and possibly Subway.

Thanks for mentioning this, bro. A Sikh who eats Halal meat becomes patit (fallen). Under no circumstances should a Sikh eat any type of meat from a restaurant.

I realize the Nihang Maryada of Jhatka, and I am not talking about that.

Even if you know (or you think you know) that a given restaurant's meat isn't Halal, there is still no excuse for eating meat from there because eating a Big Mac burger is not Kshatri Maryada.

there is absolutely no excuse for a sikh to eat cow, not even an en excuse to be anti-hindu like some american sikhs. If only they read Ugardanti bani or knew about Guru Hargobind's jeevan against cow killers

There are a lot of Sikh owned restaurants here in the London area which are halal. Remember money comes first to apne.

Likewise, take a walk down Southall Broadway and you will see countless Sikh owned shops selling Islamic pictures of Mecca and head scarfs. Never in a million years will you see muslims selling Sikh related items.

But still the worst is McDonald's in Panjab and possibly Subway being kuttha! I mean, why do SGPC allow them to have a vegeterian Mcdonald's on Harimandir Sahib Heritage Street if the other Punjab+India Mcdonald's is kurahitee!??

Very interesting how the Hindu population is also increased quite considerably.

It is no coincidence that the significant increase of Hindus has impacted the Sikh political protests.

Whereas previously Sikhs in Canada had little open opposition  (my observation ) , there does seem to be an influx of Hindutva types in Canada.

It does seem that the India Hindu groups have begun to assert themselves in western countries like Canada and Australia.

I suspect when the UK census comes out, the Hindu population is going to be a lot higher.

This seems to have played a part of the increased Hindu assertiveness against the muslims in Leicester. A lot of the Hindu mob like behaviour in the UK (as per some reports ) come from more recent migrants and they seem to come from particular parts of India.

There were Sikh-Hindu in Australia and the Hindu migrants came from Haryana.

Typically Hindu migrants (India not Sri Lanka)came from certain areas like Gujurat, Punjab, they are now coming from all other areas and they are not all white collar IT types.

Hindutva India seems to be strategically migrating people to keep overseas diasporas in check.

I mean to the western governments, a Hindu economic migrant from Gujurat is equal to a Sikh economic migrant from Punjab.

An economic migrant brings money in.

I think the influx of the population  has come from all the student visas.

yeah then it again comes to money over dharam. Like i already said you will see people calling themselves sikhs change religion for money and benefits but their are millions of Muslims living in way worse conditions than poor Sikhs who do not change religion. Like when we cry about these christian missionaries changing people's religion using money it just shows that these people do not believe in the philosophy enough to not change their religion. Like we should help poor sikhs but if the only reason someone is staying in your religion is for benefits then what is the point of having such people? Its the same way how some non sikhs converted to sikhi during Sikh empire and British rule for benefits. It's not an advantage having such people convert to your religion. These people are converting because they do not believe in the philosophy which is like 90% of sikhs. Like someone on this forum said that even the weakest sikh back in the days was a better sikh than the strongest sikh of today's time. Following sikhi is not easy which is why actual sikhs will always be very very less in numbers.

Someone else pointed out the same thing of the increased presence of these people in Canada as years pass by.

Don't worry just look at the current state of the world. All these people forget sikhi once they get rich.

Its not the issue they have mansion money cars ..because todays day and age most are just wanting to survive and can afford to pay the bills. How much can you dedicate to Sikhi / seva / helping the panth when its all just worrying keeping roof over your head.  Remember a while back we were discussing seva in Punjab its only possible to be frank if you are millionaire or have financial freedom to do whatever you want. Its just not possible with rising costs not inflation etc..its getting tough.
