GURU = one who brings is from darkness to light (i.e. an enlightener)

In Sikhi there is only one Guru - and the one Guru can never die because it is the Shabad Guru.

THe Shabad Guru, the Jyot was manifest in the Das Saroops, Ten Masters. The physical Guru became the living image of the Shabad in guiding the World.

This is what a Speaker showed us on a Sikh Youth Event - (i don't know whether I can show it properly like he did - but i will try).

Guru Nanak Ji says: "shabad guroo surat dhun chelaa... The Shabad is the Guroo, upon whom I lovingly focus my consciousness; I am the chelaa, the disciple."

Shabad Body

| |

GUROO - NANAK Ji (b. 1469 CE)

| | }The first five gurus

GUROO - ANGAD Ji }revealed the Shabad

| | }as well as being the

GUROO - AMAR DAAS Ji }living image of the

| | } shabad

GUROO - RAAM DAAS Ji

| |

"Pothi Sahib" - GUROO - ARJAN SAHIB Ji (Here the Guru is in Living Image in body and also shabad is living in the recorded word)

| |

GUROO - HARGOBIND Ji

| |

GUROO - HAR RAI Ji

| |

GUROO - HAR KRISHAN Ji

| |

GUROO - TEGH BAHADAR Ji (also Revelation occured)

| |

GUROO - GOBIND SINGH Ji (In 1699 the Khalsa was also made the body of the Guroo)

NOW AT PRESENT:

| |

GUROO KHALSA PANTH

GRANTH SAHIB Ji (the body which lives the shabad)

(the Shabd Guru)

- eternity - eternity

One jyot, one light, one message - revealed by Waheguru - alive 500 yrs ago, alive now, and will be forever alive.

I don't know whether that makes sense or not - but when the Paaji who gave the lecture showed us, it was quite. I apologise if i haven't done justice to Paaji's explanation!

food for thought

The chart hasn't come out like i typed it (the spaces have messed it up)

:umm:

In one column it says Guroo - next column Body (ten saroops) - third column = first 5 gurus revealed Baani, and 9th Guroo revealed Baani

End of chart showed

Guroo now is Shabad Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (for Eternity)

and the body is the Khalsa Panth (for Eternity)

looking at the post - i assume probably ppl will be confused!

sorry!
