Why fear this sadness, enjoy it, relish in it. Grasp it in the midst of your heart and mind. Let it tranform you, think of it as a gift. Do not seek a substitute to cover your sadness, but dive deep in it and ask WHY. Use it to propagate your Sadhna.

Dukh is my Medicine and i need this medicine constantly so why turn away such gift. A True Devotee is he who asks for Dukh, not happiness for it is a Sickness. The World seeks Joy and instead it receives Happiness and confuses the birthright joy with happiness. What you had was happiness, now it is lost so you seek the same happiness again. Seek that Blissfull Joy instead and it is recieved thru this medicne of Dukh.

A matter of perception.

God Speed.

Veerjee.. every one goes through that phase.. Sometime i feel exactly how you feeling several times in a year. Near exams.. i feel like that there's no purpose in my life.. why i am here.. how this gonna help me and so on... As smart singh mentioned Amritvela definately helps.. it will set your day perfect if you wake up early in morning before sunrise and do paath etc....

What i do is.. if i feel down anytime.. really down for couple of days.. i call my friends and then we are off to spend a day awaaaaaay from our daily life schedule.. (mountains, theme park, movies etcc..) Believe me that will definately will help you no matter what.. Go with your friends and spend a day or two up in mountains/skiing/hiking etc.. Do it and you will be glad with the results :umm: This is how it helps me..

leave it to pheena to go all spiritual with it...hahaha.....i'm just kidding...listen to pheena..he's a pretty smart guy.....

at the same time...daasn das...you sound like you have a lot of time on your hands...so get a volunteer job...i know you're a talented guy...so take those talents and match them up with some organization in need of it and start helping....

in fact...i think ALL sikhs should do SOME type of volunteer work in their community...i mean...it just makes sense according to what sikhi stands for...at least to me...i could be way off.......

I do not comprehend why ppl relate boredom to dukh!

I do not comprehend why ppl relate boredom to a so called no-life!

I wrote a looot, but it got deleted:(. I think sangat gave u some good advice. Just keep in mind that getting bored is a part of life... it has to be, otherwise ur not normal:p its essential, otherwise we wouldnt try to do something different. Not everything has to be entertaining or funny. Doing something different something Really unusuall will also help.

Sikhlion says: u might not have a "purpose of life". I think we all have a purpose in life(atleast I hope so), but we should also have a purpose of making life interesting. And actually being bored is interesting, coz u get the time to seek towards Different things that u didn't know about before.

Take it with a smile, hug it, keep it in ur mind and do something different! Its healthy:) :umm:

PS. Im not a wacky wack person:)

Jio,

Thanks for your replies. I just came back from simran.. but to tell you all the truth, i tried to settle my mind as much as i can, but the things that are running through my mind are still there.. i asked guru sahib, please give me the strength to over come this..... i guess time will tell .....

.... its not boredom as some of you have pointed out..... its straight out depressions... personal things that i cant share online wit sangat, that have changed my life....i constantly ask guru sahib to show me a way out... but so far i dont see a way.... bu ti know my guru ..... its never dark in his court, sooner or later he will show me the way ...........

Wupzz then u couldn't use my reply to anything... Sowwiii blush.gif

Depressions... u'v probably heard this before "ups, downs part of life".

This statement is soo irrritating... but it's soo true.

Anyways hope u'll get ova it. Life is short... don't let ur depressions spoil ur mood! But talk about it... it'll help.

Try doing sukhmani sahib. I was once told "one path of sukhmani sahib has the power to put hope into even the most depressed person" (and if it worked for me, it can definately work for anyone!!)

At first your mind might not rest, but if u do it regularly, with Guru Sahib's kirpa, you'll soon see the difference!

Oh and definately talk to ppl about why ur feeeling the way u are - sometimes another person can help put things into perspective.

Good luck :TH:

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
