Yeah, during this days, i have been closer to my elder sister as she always guides me how to tie a dastaar and she always invites me to rehraas sahib together. Eventough I am a little introvert, maharaj definitely will do his kirpa. Now I am wondering, how did my sister walk through the path because she was the first one in my family to be blessed with amrit. It must be really hard for her. It's easy for me tho thanks to maharaj. Anyways, thank you dear sangat for your advice and support. Maharaj always bless true sangat like you phena ji.

little sis , why don't you talk to your sister , obviously she has travelled the path you are facing and will be able to support you in terms of how to let folks know . daily challenges etc. When Guru ji has placed you at the foot of the path, lean on him to help you stay strong . Do your building up of naam abhiyaas and amritvela, slow and steady so it becomes second nature , the time for amrit will be reached so quickly you will be surprised. Stay in chardhikala always

It's a woman even if she returns and claims to be a male to discredit my judgement. It's a woman. Only a woman objects to a light being shone on the unflattering and rarely mentioned aspects of her sex's psychology and habits. When I've dragged Sikh males over the coals on this forum, not one guy ever objected to me doing so. Neither did any Sikh females interestingly enough. Nobody said, "But not all Sikh males are like that." You all quietly accepted my assessment of the situation. Your silence meant you agreed. As for Ajeet, I castigated him in the past for not having the courage to spurn marriage. He only got married to get his parents off his back. He's deceived a woman into a lifelong union that should never have happened. He tried arguing in the past that what he'll provide for his wife will be no less than what a hetero husband would do for her (and therefore, in his mind, that makes it morally acceptable), which he feels is difficult to refute, yet I believe had the girl known about his orientation there is NO way she would've agreed. She deserved to know. Despite all this, he asked for advice, and I gave him my take on the situation. I gave him an unpleasant and stark take on his problem. I won't grind my gears and shower this place with empty platitudes that are useless and impractical. I told him what MIGHT happen based on a few variables in play. I didn't bother softening or sugar coating what he needed to hear.

what makes you think it is a lady , could be a clean hearted youth ? ... anyway it is unreasonable to assume that his(Ajeet's) wife will cheat on him as she has much more to lose than him as she has a child , a home and the respect of his family name . Maybe he is still mentally troubled by his own kaamic thoughts and is projecting , best solution is to let her use her talents in a safe arena so she feels happy and heard and he works on being close and loving as a family man . This allows him the monetary support he feels he needs and perhaps the lessening of his mental stress but only if he will be able to stop overthinking and imagining calamity at every turn . Remember this is the guys who was insisting on aborting his child because his wife had a fever .

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh ji. Upon seeing a forum, I decided to get the sangat opinion too. I myself am a teen. I am 15. I love to go to gurdwara camps because you get a lot a laha and you get to learn how to be a better person. I am speaking about youths in my country Malaysia. When I go to camps, I speak to many people. They all become my friend. I am not sure of the male gender tho but I have a few guys and girls asking me if I am single or if I have a crush on someone or if I would like to be in a relationship. I always say to them that I am not here to find a partner and I am very very opposed with this type of thinking. I don't like it at all when I got to camps, only to find out the youth are interested in all nonsense about boyfriend and girlfriend and crush etc. There some amazing souls too that I meet during these camps. Some youth like me also do sewa and come to camp to build a stronger relationship with guru maharaj. I am very blessed to have met these type of youth too. Probably I have matured thinking. I don't know but sometimes it's upsetting that it's very rare I get the true sangat from going to camps. For an instance, in a camp I would have to mix around people my age ( in the teens) and I can't be sitting around people with the age of 20's above. It would look really odd. But maharaj does his kirpa and I always prefer sitting in the darbar rather than anywhere else because no one can disturb me there and many people avoid talking rubish in the darbar sahib because guru maharaj is watching them.what they don't realise is guru maharaj sees them everywhere, in the Langar hall or in the park. Writing this I have made a lot of mistakes, I am not good,no one is bad. Please forgive me sangat and teach me so that I can be a better person.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh sangat. Right now I am 15 years old, my elder sister took amrit when she was 18. Maharaj blessed me with an understanding early so I really want to take amrit. In where I live, it's lockdown again till December. So during this lockdown, I have done an ardaas to be closer with guru maharaj ji. Maharaj does his kirpa and I wake up for amritvela almost every day. I refrain from eating meat as my mother does not cook meat in home as well. Maharaj has been doing great kirpa on paapi like me. I also have been practising to tie a dastaar though it's taking time and sometimes there are obstacle. Like I have one right now. But with maharaj kirpa all problems are resolved. When I first started to keep a rehit, I did not think of taking amrit. Like I did not want to imagine big stuff without moving forward. Now, I am thinking of taking amrit. I am not really open to any of my family members and it's all maharaj kirpa that I have open up to my family of tieing dastaar. My family obviously doesn't know that I want to take amrit next year. How do I open up to them. I always find difficulties to open up topics that are rarely spoken in my home. And any pyaare sangat are willing to give their advices and suggestions or maybe help me improve my rehit or anything at all. Please keep in mind that I also have to go school so any advices for a person who wants to take amrit while still studying in school. While writing this, I have done so many mistakes please forgive me dear sangat jio. Thank you so much.

Sikhi was the biggest rebellion against the caste system. "Sikhs" from a certain caste are the biggest fans of the caste system and will do whatever it takes to promote/propagate it.

A lot of these ancient texts have stories embellished around some actual events that may have taken place. Some of these stories are metaphors and some of these may have been misinterpreted. For example, Ravana had the intelligence of 10 men so it was like he had 10 heads has been interpreted that he literally had 10 heads.

100 janams would equate to about 10 000 years, based on 100 years of each janam. But in this era, it can be quite rare for someone to reach an age of 100 years. These points will make more sense as one gets older, or has a serious illness.

In Khalsa Dharam Shaster Granth, it is written that Guru Gobind Singh said the following: If a Gursikh deviates from Rehat, and passes away. The Gursikh will be sent again to a Gurmukh family. This will happen to a maximum of 100 Janams. The downside of deviating from rehat is that, the next Janam maybe of someone with a severe health problem. In such a case, that person would be denied the ability to deviate. The process will continue for 100 Janams, until finally, the Gurmukh begs for Mukti, owing to his miserable existence. Let’s aim for Mukti in this Janam. Sant Isher Singh Rara Sahib used to say: the material pleasures are akin to a sesame seed. But the pain and misery that comes hand in hand, with this temporary sukh, it akin to a mountain. 9th Patshahi says: meditate on Waheguru as if your life depends on it. With complete and utter focus. Just as a fish never loses the desire for water...

Thank you for your support, I believe through the sangat guru maharaj actually answers my questions and doubts. I actually learned a pangti today, । A disciple who walks one step towards the guru to take his refuge and goes to him with devotion and humility, Guru advances to receive him by taking million steps. This paapi learn alot from supportive sangat like you, thank you so much

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, im a female. I am very very much inspired by anyone who ties a dastaar. I really want to tie a dastaar. So, during the covid lockdown, I started practicing to tie a dastaar. My kes is very very thick and long. You can't even tie a bun on my hair. My Bunga is very big despite me making it like a jalebi shape.Im still practicing how to tie a dastaar but it's not coming in my hands. I really don't know how to tie a dastaar despite seeing so many videos, despite seeing someone else tie theirs in front of my eyes. I know that I will continue to practice everyday until I get it. Sometimes I really feel like crying because i love dastaar so so much but it's just not coming to my head. So yeah, I wanted to just express this. Anyways, I'm very curious, when you sangat started to tie a dastaar, was it like one time magic, and how long did you all practice until you finally got a dastaar on your head. While writing this, there are so many mistakes that I've made, please forgive me and I have hope that Maharaj will definitely do his kirpa upon all.

omg u sound exactly like me from 2017/2018. I could not for the life of me tie a dastar despite trying soo much for a YEAR (on top of uni lol). But when we try try try and do ardaas to Guru sahib jee that we have no power, its all your grace, then Gurujee will be kushi and bless us to wear his crown. ਅਬ ਹਮ ਚਲੀ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਹਾਰਿ ॥ ab ham chalee ttaakur peh haar || Now, I have come, exhausted, to my Lord and Master. jab ham saran prabhoo kee aaiee raakh prabhoo bhaavai maar ||1|| rahaau || Now that I have come seeking Your Sanctuary, God, please, either save me, or kill me. ||1||Pause|| Dont give up or feel sad, just keep trying. U will get there in the end. It used to take me like half an hour to tie a dastar. Now around 5mins max.

The first time I ties a dastaar I was 4 years old. It was when I did this sakhi/katha at gurdwara sahib. Then I started wearing dastaar more constantly around the age of 5. Up until I was 13 my mum used to tie it for me but now I do it myself. I used to do the final part myself but then I started doing it all myself my own style. I used to try to tie it at home when I was 8-10 years old but never really got it until I was 13. It got better after time. I took pics when I first started tying my own dastar and compared it to now, there's a difference. You'll get it eventually.

If Hollywood ever remakes the Harry Potter films with a cast of non-whites, this Singh should play Dumbledore.
