thanx guys, this really helped. I understand that i cant believe the stories other people say. I am still learning and i will soon read the Guru Granth Sahib. i learned Gurmukhi, but i have trouble understanding full punjabi. ill work on dat soon :D

I really need to know if Sikhi believe in a rebirth, or karma. I mean ive heard stories from my dad's side of the family, to my mom's and they turn out to be so completely diff. I really dont know what to belive in anymore, Sikhi is dividing itself and more people are losin faith, or joining different sects of sikhism like Namdharis, or other sikh siects that worship living gurus and false idols. i need the Sangat's view (and learn to fully read the GGSJ) inorder to understand. its been a topic that confused me since i started keeping my hair and getting into Sikhi.

if ur starting nitnem nnewly, u dont need to start all 5 banis right away, read jap ji sahib and learn the meaning over and over, then eventually start reading 2 banis, and so on.

now about the evolution, simply god made the evolution happen, and along with its the hair came with the evolution.

its all part of gods plan my friend. accept it.

girls rnt gonna get u anywhere. one of the 5 evils; lust, which u need to stay away from if u want to be a gursikh. ur pretty much starting to ignore rules of sikhi, this isnt gonna get u anywhere. now can u say that wat u want to do right now makes u a gursikh?

i can seee ur problem, u need to b more educated with sikhi. sikhs took death over cutting their hair. now days ppl jus need a cheap excuse to cut their hair with no hesitation. simply bcuz they rather impress girls then heir gurus.

u probly heard of the saying:

a man shud never chose a girl(girl friend) over his friend.

as u can see....

u r chosing a girl(lust) over ur father(guru gobind) and over ur dharm(religion).

hey everybody, im 13 and i started to keep my hair 3 yrs ago. I didnt have any doubts or regrets until I started thinking about cutting it. I wanted to cut it because even though people say hair is given from God. It is also possible that our hair jus came with evolution, it wasnt something given to us. I kinda agree o the scientific explanation cuz i mean there is total evidence and there is no reason to not beleive it. This isnt the only reason i am cuttin my hair, i live in a school where almost everybody is white/caucasian. I dont get bullied much but people treat me alot differently. I had no girl that was more close to me than a freind after i wore a patka/pugh. i know i shouldnt even be thinkin about that rite now, especially me being a sikh, but its nearly impossible to help it. Everyone has some they care for more than a friend, and ive barely had that. i wish i could see the lighter side of sikhi, i mean i try to understand nitnem when i do it but its so hard to do it 5 times a day. Forgive me for bein week, i need some guidance.

Please someone give me some advise before i do something i regret, like cutting my hair. i would apreciate it a lot.
