  1. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville temple is asking for the public’s help after being burglarized. Around $7,000 worth of items were stolen from the Sikh Society of North East Florida’s temple in November. Now, the temple is releasing surveillance video from the morning of the burglary in hopes that someone might recognize the suspect. The burglary was discovered when the Gurdwara Granthi Sahib entered and noticed doors, which are normally closed, were instead wide open and in the prayer room, several items were missing including two large flat screen TVs. All of the cameras weren’t enough to keep a burglar from stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from the temple. Latest News Headlines from World “It makes you upset when it happens to a holy place,” said president Narinder Singh. “Upset … yeah,” said Gurdwara Granthi Ajit Singh. The crime is still evident. Two flat screen TVs, the temple’s money box with nearly $600 dollars in cash and the temple’s safe filled with documents were stolen. “He may have been here before. He knew where three, four valuable items are,” Singh said. Singh and the Granthi ji discovered the burglary and showed us what they believe happened. The suspect moved the safe, money box and TVs out of the building through this door. Unfortunately, only the first few moments of the crime were captured by a surveillance camera. The suspect cut power to the building before entering. “We come here for peace of mind and prayer and someone just vandalized the place. It’s not nice,” Singh said. The Sikh Society of North East Florida said they have received a tremendous amount of support since the burglary. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Source: http://singhstation.net/2014/12/7k-items-stolen-jacksonville-gurdwara-usa/
