  1. waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,,

Sangat jee,,, I am writing from ahmedabad, gujarat.

There is no talk over here of declaration of state as Hindu State...

Everything is peaceful... There are many difference in seeing things from internet and actually living on ground..

@Gurpreet14... If you cam PM me or write on the board about how riots affected you and which place exactly you were during riots..Because havent heard of any Sikh family being affected during Gujarat riots..

On a side note we had a recent samagam at Ahmedabad from 22nd to 25th March... Kirtan recordings are online at AKJ website..

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh..

  2. waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,,,

so if you are going to punjab,,, goto darbar saheb and take khule gafe of kirtan from darbar saheb and do as much paath as u can sitting there...

also attend amritvela at darbar saheb,, dont know the exact room number but its close to baba deep singh jee's shaheedi place...

    bhul chuk maaf karni jee,,,

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,,

  4. All the books you have mentioned are very formal and dry, although i wont deny they are supposedly the best as far as academic studies are concerned.

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,

    veerji,

search google for Yashwant Kanitkars books on C and C++.

You will find interesting topics like TSR, Graphics programming.

Its long time for me but i still remember he has different books dedicated to each topic with exercises.

  5. dear veerjee,,,

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,

In india most of us would first read 'Programming in ANSI C' by E Balaguruswamy in first year of IT (easy language i reckon)

    and

i would also suggest a book 'Let us C' by Yashwant Kanetkar ( more techno book with some good Memory resident programs for fun, also nice explanation of pointers which is very important)

Both books are available online and easily download if you google it.

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh

  6. Waheguru jee ka khalsa Waheguru jee kee fateh

Veerji, thank you very much for these shabads.

Some of them i had known but i am looking at very specific reference to seva of parents stated by guru saheb.

Please if you could find something very specific or please remember if it comes to your reference while doing paath.

    Thank you,

Waheguru jee ka khalsa Waheguru jee kee fateh

One's bad reputation is erased by a true son,

(Gathaa Mehla 5 at ang 1360 of Guru Granth Sahib ji)

"JO Mata pita di agya na manne so tankhahiya."

    (rehat nama bhai Chopa Singh ji}

See and read Vaar 37 Pauri 10 Bhai GURDAS JI as under:-

Maat pitaa mili nimiaa aasaavantee udaru majhaaray|

Meeting and mating of mother and father makes the mother

pregnant who becoming hopeful keeps the child in her womb.

Ras kas khaai nilaj hoi chhuh chhuh dharani dharai pag dhaaray|

She enjoys edibles and unedibles without any inhibition and moves carefully with measured steps on the earth.

Pait viche das maah rakhe peerhaa khaai janai putu piaaray|

She gives birth to her dear son after bearing the pain of carrying

him in her womb for ten months.

Jan kai paalai kasat kari khaan paan vichi sanjam saaray|

Having delivered, the mother nourishes the child and herself

remains moderate in eating and drinking.

Gurhhatee dayi piaali dudhu ghutee vatee dayi nihaaray|

Having ministered the customary first food, and milk,

she stares at him with deep love.

Chhaadanu bhojanu pokhiaa bhadani mangani parhhani chitaaray|

She thinks about his food, clothes, tonsure, betrothal, education etc.

Paandhay paasi parhhaaiaa khati|utaai hoi suchiaaray|

Throwing handful of coins over his head and giving him a proper bath

she sends him to the teacher for education.

    Urinat hoi bhaaru utaaray ॥10॥

This way she clears the debt (of her motherhood).

And now pauri 11 of vaar 33 of Bhai GURDAS JI:-

Maataa pitaa anad vichi putai dee kurhamaaee hoee|

Parents are happy that the betrothel ceremony of their son has

    been solemnized.

rahasee ang n maavaee gaavai sohilarhay sukh soee|

Mother becomes overjoyed and sings songs of happiness.

Vigasee put viaahiai ghorhee|aavaan gaav bhaloee|

Singing eulogies of bridegroom, and praying for the welfare of

the couple she feels very happy that her son got married.

Sukhaan sukhai maavarhee putu noonh daa mayl aloee|

For the well-being and harmony of bride and bridegroom the mother

makes vows of offerings (before the deities).

Nuhu nit kant kumantu dayi viharay hovahu sasu vigoee|

Now, the bride starts ill-advising the son, goading him to get separate

from the parents, and consequently the mother-in-law becomes sorrowful.

Lakh upakaaru visaari kai put kuputi chakee utdi jhoee|

Forgetting lacs of benefactions (of mother) the son becomes disloyal and

sets himself at logger-heads with his parents.

    Hovai saravan viralaa koee ॥11॥

Rare is any obdient and lucky son like Sravan (of mythology who was

most obedient to his blind parents.)

Now Vaar 37 Pauri 12 of Vaaran Bhai Gurdas

kaamani kaamaniaareeai keeto kaamanu kant piaaray|

The enchantress wife with her charms made the husband dote on her.

janmay saaeen visaariaa veevaahiaan maan pia visaaray|

He forgot the parents who had given him birth and had got him married.

sukhaan sukhi vivaahiaa saunu sanjogu vichaari vichaaray|

Having made vows of offerings and considerd many good and bad omens and

auspicious combinations, his marriage had been arranged by them.

put noohain daa maylu vaykhi ang naa maavani maan piu vaaray|

Seeing at the meetings of the son and the daughter-in-law, the parents

    had felt over joyed.

noonh nit mant kumant dayi maan piu chhadi vaday hatiaaray|

The bride then started continuously advising the husband to desert his

parents instigating that they had been tyrants.

vakh hovai putu ranni|ai maan piu day upakaaru visaaray|

Forgetting the benefactions of parents, the son alongwith his wife got separated from them.

    lokaachaari hoi vaday kuchaaray ॥12॥

Now the way of the world has become grossly immoral.

At ang 1200 in Sarang Mehla 4 Guru Ram Das ji say:-

kaahae pooth jhagarath ho sang baap ||

O son, why do you argue and quarrel with your father?

jin kae janae baddeerae thum ho thin sio jhagarath paap ||1|| rehaao ||

It is a sin to argue and querrel with the one who fathered you and raised you. ||1||

I think the above quotes will serve your purpose upto some extent but no fully.

  7. Waheguru jee ka khalsa Waheguru jee kee fateh,

Sangat jee if some one could please find a shabad with meaning " A son should always take care(look after) of his parents" / "Mata pita dee seva karni chahide hai"

There is a speech for some one i am helping with the above topic.

Please give direct reference of gurbani and ang if possible.

    Thank you,

Waheguru jee ka khalsa Waheguru jee kee fateh,

  8. Waheguru jee ka khalsa Waheguru jee kee fateh,

    My 2 cents...

This all things is nothing related to panth or sikhi. Its just pure money and control of gurudwaras management and greed.

The HSGPC is no better then badal and falls in same category of mahant. Badal, SGPC and HSGPC are all same things with different wrapers.

But it is always good to have a single body for sikhs and if it is corrupt, improve on it. If we today make HSGPC tommorrow there will be Rajasthan SGPC, Guajarat SGPC, Maharashtra SGPC and what not and all will function on their own with no regards of sikhi or Akal thakht saheb.

So just chill and see what happens. I will pray that there is only one sikhi body and if it is corrupt, try and clear the corruption.

    Bhul Chuk Maaf

  9. waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,,

agreed with what u say veerji low_profile_id, rsingh and point taken,,,

    apologies for the same,,,

it was just that the thread was more concerened of world politics and neenda rather than human loss or concerned for life of people which made me write the msg on the forum...

heart goes to all the injured, dead and their families but just wanted ppl on internet to know that there was no sikh casualties...

veer rsingh,,,,ur from london and am from ahmedabad...some time back i was in london itself and used to attend the monthly saturday kirtan at park avenue gurudwara saheb,,,,didnt get chance to meet u but i had met with satinder singh, vijay singh and manveer singh verjee.. hope will catch u when am in london...

    bhul chuk maaf!!

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh

  10. waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,,,

just for the knowledge of all sikhsangat members,, there is no harm to any of the sikh families in ahmedabad and the local sangat is trying to reach the affected people in bombings...

hope some of the members would have first thought of any sikh casualties rather than bashing world politics...

    bhul chuk maaf...

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh

  11. waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,

In simple terms if you understand it,, just take an example of making a simple software.... u would first need to identify the problem or why a software is actually required, is it to solve a problem or is it to improve on some process or make work more easier,, u do a feasibility study on whether the actual software is required and if developed would it be useful, if the answer is yes then you try to understand the scope of the application like who will be using the software, what problems do they face now without the software, what features and functionalities would be required, you outline all the things, prepare diagrams and database and then start developing the code,, later on u test it, implement it, get feedbacks from the users and improve on it,, so its like a cycle..... more like dalsingh veerjee said!!

might sound to be nerd but that should be what you look at in small terms in SAD-- system application and development....

this is part of SDLC-- system development life cycle... which they probably define in different stages..

  12. my friend from usa is coming to india this monday and he has challenged me to have a deabte with him on khalistan... he is totally against khalistan... and also haricut

plzz give me some valid points... mostly proving that sant ji were not terrorist and that rights of sikhs r not secure in india... don't write long articles .... just give me briefing....

its not that i don't know about it... just want to make sure that i don't miss anything....

waheguru jee ka khalsa waheguru jee kee fateh,

    i am from india,,

some points what i think not for khalistan,, may be but for a sikh in india..

    1) sikh religion is recognised as part of hindu religion according to constitution of india and not independent,,

    2) if you marry in india,, u are married under hindu marraige act

    3) my school leaving certificate of 12th std says my religion as "hindu sikh" and not "sikh".

Attached is my school leaving certificate as a proof.

Those are enough for me to go against my basic identity and religion and my rights as a human.

    bhul chuk maaf,,,

If a word goes in to producer or TV channels mind,,, no harm in trying or something like this comes up in future,, atleast they would remember what had happened before about their programme and its response.

It may increase their awareness towards our religion or they may try to research more on this topic before doing similar programme in future.

    sorry for saying anything wrong.
