Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa | Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/gurunanakgurdwara-singhsabha Guru Nanak Gurdwara Singh Sabha is the oldest Gurdwara Sahib in Preston, Lancashire, UK. Established in 1966, the Gurdwara Sahib has been a special place of learning and worship for Sikhs community and alike. Situated in the heart of the city centre and close to the university, the Gurdwara Sahib has served both the international students and the homeless community in Preston. Over the past decade the demands from the building have grown however, the community has been restricted due to costs of the project and the state of the buil…

She may not have chosen the wisest words but its fair to say people got killed for speaking out. But good for her. Hopefully she can learn from this situation.

A 17-year old kid in the UK stabbed 10 people and killed 3 children. This is quite a horrific incident. What makes this story nuts is the fact the British folks blamed Muslims when it was (according to media reports) a Black British Born kid brought up in Southport, England (he turned 18). There was rioting followed by a police van being burnt in front of a mosque. I have doubts that it was black British born kid-probably a British born Anglo-Saxon kid, just because the amount of support the groups involved in the riots get-but then again I might be wrong. This however is a clear indication in the times we are living in. A innocent 17-year old kid killing 3 children…

Veer Manpreet Singh, a lay preacher, claims that -Sikhs aren't supposed to worship Guru Granth Sahib ji. -We are only supposed to worship God as is written in Guru Granth Sahib ji. -We only "revere" Guru Granth Sahib ji. He says a lot of other things in this video, some are good refutations of Hindu superstitions, but the reformers often go too far. Anyways, what he is saying about not worshipping Guru Granth Sahib ji is totally wrong. The reason is Guru Granth Sahib ji is Guru. Guru is Satguru. Satguru is God. We worship God. Therefore, we also worship Satguru (Guru Granth Sahib ji). Th…

I saw a thread earlier on here about Khalsa Secondary School and opposition from local community. Just a questions to anyone involved and will be able to respond (and the sangat to think about), will this be another AKJ/Missionary school? It is a well known fact that the likes of Dhunda and other hardcore missionary come to the primary school in slough, it even had Ragi there when he wasn't kicked out. No well respected Kathavachak (Bhai Pinderpal Singh, Giani Jangbir Singh, Nihang Mehtab Singh etc (i.e all non AKJ's)) so many come to UK every-year or even no well known kirtani (except AKJ kirtani and bhai harjinder singh shri nagar vale) come to the primary school. …

I was searching igurbani.com which gives correct pronunciation of Gurbani. I can’t remember all of it at once. I guess it relies on more practice, like more Sehaj Paths. The meaning becomes clearer. I have noticed slight variants in it. This could be because it’s written in old Punjabi.

I am in big dilemma. As we all know that waheguru ji everywhere. I also understand that it is important to go to gurudwara sahib as well. My question is that if i do ardaas at home or any other place other than gurudwara sahib, will it be heard and acknowledged by guru sahib or it is always important to go to gurudwara sahib and do ardaas at gurudwara sahib for guru sahib to acknowledge it? I always do path and ardaas at home in front of harmandir sahib photo or hazur sahib photo and then for important things i make a list and go to gurudwara sahib to do the ardaas there because i think that if i do ardaas in front of guru granth sahib then it will be mo…

Listening to Panjab Radio today. There was a discussion on the Friday topic between 12 - 2pm One aunty ji came on and complained about Men with full white beards khulla prakas, wearing gatray, drinking glassy at parties (I presume mostly wedding parties) and throwing money over dancers (I think she said it was dancers). I think she was talking about Ilford mostly, but could be other areas. I think she also complained about them scanning women up and down in Ilford. I haven't seen this happening myself, with old men wearing gatray drinking shraab, in uk or Panjab? Can someone on here clarify if this happens often? This aunty ji seemed t…

If Sikhism is ever to spread beyond the 20 million Punjabis who are Sikhs then Sikhism will have to change dramatically. For example, the discarding of the archaic beard and turban will be a major step in marketing the Sikh faith. Since the vast majority of people around the world (including Sikhs) do not wear beards and turbans Sikhism will be in a great spot to get rid of them permanently. Besides, why would anyone interested in becoming a Sikh want to wear them anyway???????

I forgot to post this during covid. This is alarming as they are trying to portay amritdharis in such a disgusting way, on a hindi drama! The act isn't being done by an amritdhari, but still a sardar type person and the amritdharis are part of the gang that is watching! I feel like there was some anti-sikh sentiment and is dangerous as it came to air in 2020, during the big farmer kisaan andolan rallies in Delhi! The scene is not graphic and only a few seconds, so kind of NSFW. this is on season 1 episode 3! For context watch from 13:50-18:00 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/detail/B08BYZB14R/ref=atv_dp_share_cu_r

VJKK VJKF! Quick question Sangat Ji, I have being doing parkamaya from left to right (Maharaaj Ji's Saroop being on my right side) most of my life when doing Guru Sahibs darshan. I have noticed that some do it from right to left (opposite direction). Mainly noticed that it is usually Nihung Singhs/Singhniya. What is the correct marayada if any? I ask because someone I have known for years recently changed the direction they do it in and it got me thinking. Thank you ji Akaal
